Core Job Functions / Responsibility:
The Configuration and Capacity Manager is responsible for recording and updating of information that describes an enterprise's hardware and software. Such information typically includes the versions and updates that have been applied to installed software packages and the locations and network addresses of hardware devices. He is also responsible for ensuring that services and infrastructure are able to deliver the agreed capacity and performance targets in a cost effective and timely manner.
Primary activities
· Keep track of the source code, documentation, problems, changes requested, and changes made.
· Administration and maintenance of version control tool
· Support and enhance processes and procedures needed to support the Software development team.
· Supports configuration control by developing, interpreting, and implementing software configuration management procedures in accordance with company procedures and standards.
· Perform builds and deployments to multiple environments.
· Repair and recover from software deployment failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted user base.
· Design, develop, and maintain automation tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software builds and deployments.
· Plan for short, medium and long term business requirements.
· To translate business needs and plans into capacity and performance requirements for services and IT infrastructure, and to ensure that future capacity and performance needs can be fulfilled.
· To manage, control and predict the performance and capacity of operational services. This includes initiating proactive and reactive action to ensure that the performances and capacities of services meet their agreed targets.
· To manage, control and predict the performance, utilization and capacity of IT resources and individual IT components.
· To provide other Service Management processes and IT Management with information related to service and resource capacity, utilization and performance
Job Requirements and Skills
Graduate Qualifications: A First degree BEng, BSc, BTec, Science or Technology Only from a recognised University REQUIRED.
Post Graduate Qualifications: Master’s degree or Post Graduate Qualification would be of ADVANTAGE.
Experience: 5 to 7 years’ relevant work experience in IT production environment, NYSC is ESSENTIAL.
Certifications and Training Requirements: Relevant IT Certifications (CISCO, JAVA etc.), ISO, ITIL, PMP, Applications etc. would be of ADVANTAGE.
