DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTIONS
IT Security and Continuity Specialist
Core Job Functions / Responsibility:
The IT Security and Continuity Specialist will assist in implementing defined work programmes and plans in the area of IT security.
Primary activities
Operational
· Assist in performing risk assessments and security scans on information systems.
· Notify appropriate user groups on vulnerabilities within their systems and recommend options for resolving or mitigating the vulnerabilities.
· Assist in analysing system logs generated by UNIX, Windows, mainframe systems and databases, with respect to security integrity.
· Identify and investigate anomalous log entries and possible implications on security, integrity and performance of IT infrastructure. Escalate recommendations to the Manager, IT Architecture and Security.
· Prepare periodic security/risk assessment report and circulate to all relevant stakeholders.
· Assist in conducting research on evolving systems, security threats and technologies, and proffer recommendations to the Manager, IT Architecture and Security.
· Liaise with relevant unit/ team/function in carrying out all relevant activities.
· Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.
· Provide guidance and manage the performance of subordinates (where applicable).
· Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, IT Architecture and Security.
· Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, IT Architecture and Security.
Job Requirements and Skills
Graduate Qualifications: A First degree BEng, BSc, BTec, Science or Technology Only from a recognised University REQUIRED.
Post Graduate Qualifications: Master’s degree or Post Graduate Qualification would be of ADVANTAGE.
Previous Experience: Telecoms Exposure Required.
Experience: 4 to 6 years’ relevant work experience in IT production environment, NYSC is ESSENTIAL.
Certifications and Training Requirements: Relevant IT Certifications (CISCO, JAVA etc.), ISO, ITIL, PMP, Applications etc. would be of ADVANTAGE.
