SHELL CALLING FOR INTERVIEW

I recieved an E-mail from shell inviting me for an interview on the 25th of June. Has anyone here recieved the same? Does anyone have an idea of how the Interview is?

Interviews are on a one-to-one basis and will last 45 minutes. There will be a five-minute career discussion at the beginning of the interview where you will have the opportunity to state your career preferences, and let us know how flexible you are able to be about work location, etc.

We will be looking for candidates to demonstrate Shell’s three core values - Honesty, Integrity and Respect. Throughout our recruitment process, we assess you against CAR (Capacity, Achievements and Relationship). You will be asked for evidence of your Achievement and Relationship skills to date, as well as being given the opportunity to analyse an issue that is current to global companies (Capacity).

On arrival please report to the main reception, where someone will meet you and direct you to the interview room.

If travelling is inconvenient, a telephone interview can be arranged. A telephone interview will not disadvantage you in any way, and is more flexible in relation to dates and times.

If you no longer wish to proceed with our recruitment process, please decline the interview so that we can close your file. This is a step to break thru. I wish u all d best. Basically its going to be an interview to see how much u can relate with current happenings in the industry nt sure if its going to be streamlined with ur field or the oil industry as a whole bt u need to desmonstrate ur understanding of issues and how u can tackle them which is under capabilty also u need to desmonstrate how much of a team player u can be wot u hv done in the past how did u go abt it. itS GOING TO BE A BEHAVIOURAL interview.

U can also visit land bcos there r a number of guys dat hv jst concluded the process and were successful they will gv u a first hand info.

congrats man!!..thats is it!!..u just got ur self the real thing..congrats that mail shows u the real mail from a reputable coy compared to some of the nonsense i used to see on naijahotjobs.

just be urself and everythimg will move fine,just a liitle tip u can go to shell's website and read up on the company,their objectives and latest dicoveries in oil and gas ...in fact read up everything u can on their website that might give u a start for something to say about them...u can also check some oil and gas sites like rigzone.com,worldoil.com...it might help a little u neva can tell..

I got the same mail, but I am currently not in town - official stuff. I have called d undersigned to see if I can get another day next week. If I were on land, I would have stolen my way to Lagos and back.

shell will always reschedule the interview for u,just call them and tell them u are indisposed.Shell is very organised and will DEFINITELY give u a second chance as long as ur return is within reasonable time.

You guys should check your application status online - It's either still under review or it shows shortlisted. That helps you to start preparing for an interview in advance.x

@Ibkaa thanx for responding. I checked mine and its still under review. I also applied for HR and am happy i hv cn 1 person atlast who is HR on dis forum. @Subsy use this link to check ur app. status http://www.shell.com/home/page/caree...plication.html. when the page opens click on log in, then u sign in using ur username and password given to u wen u registerd, after that click on application status and a window open showing ur status, basically if u have not gotten any email(rejection or acceptance) frm dem, den it means u r still under review.

if this link doesnot work, go to shell.com, click on careers, then on graduate ...., then u see different job types just click on apply and then u click log in and u follow up frm thr

@ Shellites those who made their application during the last May advert wots happening to shell, has everything suddenly gone quite. Anybody with situational report pls let us know why d sudden silence on the recruitment process.

I had the Shell interview 2 weeks ago and was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for them to get back to people after the first round/stage interview.

A piece of Advice for people who are yet to be called for the interview. Ensure you go to their website and do a proper research. Make sure you understand the business and how their activites impact the environment on a local and global level. Maintain eye contact during the interview, smile, relax and enjoy the experience. Bearing in mind that the interview is timed, Should you not have an immediate answer to a question, politely ask to come back to the question later on because talking answering further questions might give a clue on what to say on the skipped question.

I was interviewed by a very pleasant lady. I enjoyed the experience( as a result of doing prior intensive research and God's blessings) and was very relaxed as we both created the atmosphere to be so. By the Grace of God, I am expecting a positive feedback.
