Topic: IT/Network Support

A vacancy has arisen with a multinational oilfield services supply company to provide support on all aspects of networking, desktop and general hardware & software services to the various business units within the company in Lagos.

Attributes and qualifications required for the position are as follows:




Knowledge and experience of all aspects of Windows-based technologies

Experience in recording and documenting that a platform is in place for internal and external PC and server network communication

Experience in the recovery of data and knowledge of disaster recovery procedures

Ability to work within a framework of corporate standards and policies

Minimum 2 years experience in the completion of MS accredited training

Experience in server technology, dual / quad processor, Raid 5/6 disc systems and rack mounting approaches, operating systems and related infrastructure applications, Win 2000/2003/2007, XP, IIS, Active Directory, terminal services etc. Also, networking essentials for WAN/LAN, hubs, routers, Pix or Sonic firewalls, protocols, cabling etc.

Knowledge of equipment installation and maintenance




Ability to work within a framework of corporate standards and policies

Must be a team player

Must be able to promote the continuous improvement of workplace safety / environmental practices within the company’s business units

Education: University degree (Bachelors or equivalent) preferably in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or related fields.
