Hi guys, i applied for trainee Mechanical engineer. A lady from Mobil called me Yesterday evening for an interview based on the test i took at Mobil producing, Apapa some time ago.
Please house if anyone has an idea of what to expect let us all know, as i am not the only one who was called.

emma, the best way to find out is to call them, no?
A friend of mine was interviewed last week. It's mostly oral. Just be very confident. The questions are simple like-
Tell us about a time you were put incharge of a team
Tell us about a time you had to solve a difficult task
Tell us your career goals (where would you want to be in the next ten years)
They just want to know if you can talk. I suggest you should visit their website and find out what they are looking for. They'll also give you a chance to ask them questions. Ask very intelligent questions. Ensure that you focus on the fact that you are a good team player and that you can handle challenges.
Do not even mention that you want to work for them because of the money. Focus on the fact that you are looking for an environment that will shape you up and that you think Mobil is the best place for that.
Show them that you are really interested in what they do. You can check them out on Wikipedia.org to find out exactly what they do.

I was able to contact Mobil HR in the early hours of today with respect to the ongoing interview process, and I was told more people would be contacted from today for their first interview.

hi bynzie, when is ur second interview? It should be with the GM. Its kind of the same as the first interview, just with a more senior person interviewin u. Again, just be urself, be honest and .........all the best!

Had my 1st in lag n we were told second stage comes around 7-9th,July.Called Temi Edu, she said sth abt 3rd week of July or so.

i intend getting a job in mobil, really i don't know what the job is about....let' s say i got hints that the job is about pipeline construction or laying? how true is that? i got a 2.2 in pet. eng. i applied for anything but didn't get a reply..
really, and most especially my name happens to be on a list sent to the manager from the Presidency, so i believe mobil won't play us. they said we should wait until they are through with those that applied thru the internet. we are 100 in all
Strinsz, so what do you expect some of us that do not have connection with even local govt. chairman to tell you now? The presidency can even give the directives for some names to be removed so that yours might be included.That is naija 4 u. Your info is a threat to some of us. Only God can help us.
@stringsz- so what do u want us to do? pls? anyhow, mobil only has vacancies for 40 graduates this year. I was told wen I did mine in may. so even if ur "mr presidents list" story was true, which i doubt, rly wot r the chances that if only "mr presidents list" ppl r chosen, ul b one of them? better do ur runs well oh! anyway, @ all the connectionless ppl like me, keep the faith, keep prayin and believin in God and keep workin hard, surely, ul b selected on merit like I was!

@impish- did you say you've been selected? Have you done ur medicals already? I had my test and interviews outside Nigeria but still awaiting invite for medicals. Do you know if they've started contacting people?
oh no, i have not been selected oh! sorry, u must have misunderstood me. I am waiting like you for medicals invite, but if im right, they said theyd start contactin ppl after they have finished the final intvw stage for nigerian candidates in naija. so, no, i havnt been called, im waiting to be called.

@ impish - ok then. The wait is getting too long. I hope they finish up on time. Learnt the second round of interviews in naija will be next week. I hope that still stands. Dunno if they've started inviting them.

I spoke with Temitope (HR) of Mobil on Friday and she informed me, mobil will start sending invitation for the second interview early Next week and the interview will still hold same week. I wish all hopeful like myself the very best for those that will be invited. One love

I just received an invitation for the second interview. Please has anyone done the second interview? What should we expect? is it behavioural type of interview. I will appreciate frank and honest responses please. thanks

please house kindly explain better to we that are confused about the way they are calling because i havent heard of anybody telling the house that he/she (CIVIL ENGR'R) candidates is calledafter the test cos some of us are still looking @ it if they are yet to select from that dept. Even Electrical Engr'r, i havent heard anything.pleae or if there is any email i can address to find out from their HR dept. I need doubts to be cleared.
Please house kindly shed more explanation or should one just loose hope and see it dat there is notin again for us.

temitope edus no is sumwhere on this page i.e. one of the earlier posts. You can call her. From my understanding, they have called all the graduate trainee engrs they need from ALL disciplines. Dont expect to get an email address cos if you really want to get info from her, be prepared to spend 20 naira at a call centre or sumthine. I personally dont know of anyone they called, but if you sift through all the posts on this subject both here and on NL ul find a few. They are currently inviting for the second interview. hope this answers ur questions.

when is the 2nd interview?
My friend's interview is 2mrw. i just received an email from Temi Edu telling me that they are unable to give me a job with exxonmobil. so my guess is that those that qualified have being contacted.

I also got called for the second interview, though I got another mail that it has been postponed till Monday.
As to whether any serving corps member was called, I know of a serving Batch A mechanical. For those who unfortunately didn't scale thru the first stage, know that no company can kill the champion in you. life goes on and it can really go on well. wish the successful ones luck
