The Institute of Petroleum and Energy Marketers is a modern professional body for the oil industry, our members, from the largest to the smallest of independent marketing/trading companies, cuts across the marketing segments of the oil industry. They are producers, refiners, suppliers, pipeline operators and marine transporters as well as services and supply companies that support oil marketing of the oil industry.

Purpose of the Institute

The Institute through the services provided to individuals and organizations in membership stands to serves society with independence, professionalism and a wealth of expertise in petroleum and energy marketing matters, thereby, creating a home for professionals.

Aims

To promote knowledge related to the petroleum industry and Petroleum Marketing and Energy Subjects
To promote knowledge and sound professional practice in the petroleum marketing sub-sector of the oil industry
To advance public education and awareness on petroleum industry, petroleum and energy marketing activities in Nigeria
To provide a data bank for up-stream and down-stream sectors of the oil and gas industry, specifically relating to petroleum marketing operations and practice in Nigeria
To encourage education research amongst the academic in petroleum by the provision of scholarship and grants
To conduct professional examination and award Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma certificates to qualified candidates and allow successful candidates use the following appellations - (A) student S (Ins. Pet. M); (B) Associate(Ins. Pet, M); (C) Member (Ins. Pet, M); (D) Fellow (F Ins.Pet,M)

This category of membership is for those who have honors Degree, HND/HNC or an assessed academic equivalent and also, Graduates with little or no practical experience. Click here to join

Full Member

In accordance with the rules and regulations of the Institute, a person is admitted as an associate member on application, if he/she is a graduate member of the institute and has acquired the relevant petroleum marketing experience or has completed any of the recognized examinations of the institute. Members of any other professional bodies are admitted after they have serve a specific period either in Petroleum Marketing, or Management and Administration. Click here to join

Entry by Dissertation

Persons above the Thirty-five years of age and with a minimum of eight years service in Petroleum and Energy Marketing field may apply to be considered for membership by presentation of a dissertation. click here for details

Education and Training

Examination

The Institute’s Examinations is open to all registered student members of the Institute. A registered student member is however expected to have comply with the institute rules and regulation guiding examination registration

Registration procedure

IPEMN STUDENT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

a) Five (5) credits passes including English Language and Mathematics in the West African School Certificate Examination, General Certificate of Education or Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination in not more than two sittings.

b) Ordinary National Diploma of any Polytechnic recognized by the Council of the Institute

c) National Certificate of Education (NCE) from any College of Education.

d) Any other relevant qualification approved by the Institute.

REGISTRATION FOR STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

PROFESSIONAL

Candidates who wish to write the examination should first register as a student. Download application form and pay. A sum of five thousand naira (N5,000.00) should be paid as IPEMN registration fee to any of the designated branch of GT BANK, with account number below.

A hardcopy of the completed form must be accompanied with copies of credentials

This should be forwarded to the Institute’s Office at 105, IKorodu Road, Fadeyi, Lagos

A letter/Certificate of student registration will be sent to the student from the IPEMN National Secretariat. (The letter will indicate the student registration number.)

The student will be advice to study and cover the whole syllabus. (Subject to the parts he/she will sit for in the next Examination).

During March/April and August/September student will be required to pay for Examination entry Form, Examination Fee.

In May and October, all students are required to prepare and write the institute examination.

A month after the exanimation, the results will be released and sent to students.
