MY POINT IS IF THESE BANKS ARE IN DISTRESS WHY DONT THEY ASK FOR EMERGENCY BAILOUT?
BE LIKE SAY MAN GO ADVICE HIM FAMILY,RELATIVES AND FRIENDS TO WITHDRAW ALL THEIR FUNDS FROM BANKS BEFORE THEM LIQUIDATE TRUE TRUE.
Considering the economic meltdown, it is expected that banks might go over the merger again. By this, i mean acquisition of the very small ones that might not weather the storm will probably set in soonest but certainly they all cant go down. I guess dats y they have started right-sizing and cutting down salaries to be able to weather this storm...God help us all
Banks are thieves esp. intercontinental. they just want to capitalize on the global economic meltdown to make more money themselves. Personally, I still find it difficult to believe any of the banks will liquidate easily. Let's just watch.
Dem don use our money rush build branches finish, na now dem wan put am 4 global recession head!!!
;D :)
I heard romours about intercontinental and oceanic. But i think thats all dey are -rumours
hi house, dnt panic no bank is going down. Intercontinental increased their balance not because they are going down but because they want to give more effective service to their customers. but because of the general complaint, they have cancelled all the reviews. so their minimum balance is still as before. See!!! no cause for alarm
I served with d bank, the bank can never go down. They are finacially strong and customer oriented.
There is nothing to be afraid of. INTERCONTINENTAL BANK is not folding up. The recent increase in minimum operating balance to N10,000 which is now reversed was to simply encourage saving culture. There is no cause for alarm as the decision has just been reversed.
Pls try not to circulate false information because the panic that may be generated may adversely affect you. who knows!!!!!!!!!!!. i just finished my youth service with the bank.
Be guided
i dont think the banks will liquidate as people speculate, thank God for charles soludo who has enabled that nice medium for them to make their billions. it just anxiety that is affecting out people but i believe things will settle up soon. as for the intercontinental minimum savings i dont know what to say. i bank with them but i dont bother my self with such things now, there is a lot to worry about than minium balance, moreover is ur money and will be there for u. GOD BLESS U ALL
Let's be careful & stop spreading dangerous propaganda. What the banks are doing 2 demselves is de-marketing other banks. They want 2 have a large savings in their branch and they speak bad about the more successful banks. They are all raising because the Central Bank introduced this Dec, 2009 4 uniform accounting year end. In my opinion, basically all are not 2 sound/healthy. But that does not mean that u should rush and withdraw your savings from any. They are basically all the same. It is clearly not safer 2 keep your money at home. If possible spread your money in several banks. Thats my own opinion.
Dudes..Why are you guys bothered. It is if you have alot of cash saved in the Bank that you would even bother about such stories. I for one don't have the money to be bothered about liquidation, I need a job....thats alll that matters. And if you need a solution put your money under your mattress like me!!! And pray armed robbers dont pay you a visit!
Naijajobber the Rumour wey una carry for schooldays na im una wan carry reach here so??? Cbn has just announced that Intercont is strong! Even if they truely liquidate, depositors will surely get their money back no matter ho long it takes. Believe me because I was affected in the All States TRust Bank saga.....Quote:

i m in first bank and i don't think it will never go down, try and invest in a stronger bank like first bank
it all started like a joke then when some banks folded up overnight. As for me, I think our leaders are not been sincere enough to let nigerians know the true situation of the nigerian economy. Soludo once said that there is no cause for alarm and that nigerian economy is immuned against recession. the question i asked myself was, if a country like Japan that is very efficient is bailing out her major companies, what then is the rationale behind our own economic immunity despite our obvious extravant spending and CORRUPTION? we all must continue to study the trend of events as they unfold so that we will not be caught unaware. the little money given to me by NYSC when i was rounding up my service last month is still in the bank and i can't afford to be begging NDIC and CBN to pay me back the when banks start to liquidate. Mr Soludo should be more open as far as banks failure is concerned.
House is through that these banks will liquidate?
not too sure but intercontinental is downsizing
