The NigerianInter-Faith Action Association (NIFAA) is recruiting for State Program Managers and Zonal Coordinators for its work to mobilise religious leaders as active partners in the fight against malaria. These positions will be based in each of the following states: Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano & Rivers.
STATEPROGRAM MANAGER
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Required qualifications:
- Implementing developed faith-based behaviour change communication strategy for the program, focusing on creating demand for all malaria control interventions and increased utilisation of malaria control commodities; identifying areas for improvement
- CoordinatingState level training of faith leaders in conjunction with Zonal Coordinators and NIFAA HQ Program Managers and staff
- Coordinatingactivities with State Roll Back Malaria Program Managers, State and Local Government authorities and other relevant partners
- Providing supervision and leadership to Zonal Coordinators and guidance to other technical teams within the program on promoting enabling environments at community levels for improved malaria-related behaviours
- Providingtechnical leadership for all NIFAA Advocacy, Communications and Social Mobilisation (ASCM) activities at State level
- Ensure accurate & effective reporting of activities, challenges, solutions andmore to NIFAA HQ.
- A medical doctor with masters in public health
- At least 5 years’ progressively more responsible experience in malaria or other health programming in Nigeria
- Demonstrated ability to work with state government agencies and faith-based groups
- Professional-level English and principal local language(s)
- Strong proficiency with the use of computer packages (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Willingness to travel within and out of the state
- Good oral and writing communication skills
- Has good supervisory skills & is a good team player, happy to work with all faiths
ZONAL COORDINATORS
Duties and responsibilities include but arenot limited to:
Required qualifications:
- Implementing developed faith-based behaviour change communication strategy for the program, focusing on creating demand for all malaria control interventions and increased utilisation of malaria control commodities; identifying areas for improvement
- Identifying and delivering solutions to management and technical problems and issues that arise during State program design and implementation
- Working closely with NIFAA-trained religious leaders, building supportive relationships that encourage leaders to carry out program activities and conveys information back to State Manager
- Gathering and verifying data regarding activities and training
- Coordinating activities with representatives of the State Malaria Control Programme, partners, others at local levels, and the community at large as appropriate, to help achieve malaria control in the State
- Conducting quality control assessments of cascade trainings carried out by trained faith leaders and identifying areas of improvement
- Collecting and documenting lessons learned to inform decision making
- A graduate with a masters degree in social work, public health or related field
- At least 5 years relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with state government agencies and faith-based groups
- Professional-level English and principal local language(s)
- Understanding of the geographic terrain
- Strong proficiency with the use of computer packages (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Willingness to travel within and out of the state
- A good team player who likes working with people of all faith
