Objective:

* Design of press tools for complex sheet metal components
* Design of moulds for plastic components
* Design of dies for pressure - die cast components
* Design of jigs and fixtures, gauges
* Plan, manufacture and estimate costs of tools, dies and moulds
* Use Computers in the design and analysis of tools, moulds and dies
* Try - out tools to eliminate defects and tune the process conditions to achieve quality production.

* Comprehend the process of product design and new product development

* Create 3D models in computers and review the designs
* Evaluate the design for ease of manufacture and assembly
