We are currently a recruiting MEDICAL LAB SCIENTIST for a client in the Medical Diagnostic Industry (In the Mainland axis of Lagos | Application deadline is Friday, 23rd Sept 2016).


ROLE: Medical Laboratory Scientist II (Histology/Histopathology/Cytopathology)


Primary Role
Provide accurate clearly legible histopathology and cytopathology slides in a timely orderly manner.

SUMMARY: Either directly or by delegation, and under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, assist them in the direct coordination of laboratory unit activities.
Provide accurate, timely and cost effective testing and preparing microscopic tissue samples, patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease in compliance and harmony with the quality management system. The Medical Laboratory Scientist supervises all the activities of the Laboratory Technical Assistant

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment in the Histopathology and Cytopathology laboratory.
Knowledge of the qualities of solvents, reagents and compounds.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations.
Ability to understand explained instructions and guidelines effectively.
Ability to prioritize activities on a need basis.
Ability function under the organized work of the unit.




EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
-Degree in Medical Laboratory Science with focus in Histopathology and a minimum of 1 year post National Service Experience
Additional Requirements:
• Upon date of Hire: Current Negative TB Test
• Ability to Pass a Criminal History Check and Drug Test
• Must be current in all immunizations
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Regular and prompt attendance is a requirement of this job.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to develop, review, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively to employees in their work group or department.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, AND REGISTRATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science BMLS


REMUNERATION
Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
In addition, Bonus Payment will be made from volume of clinical procedures done (Pap Smears taken by Scientist)


ENGAGEMENT TERMS
9 Month Probationary Period before confirmation of employment
6 Month Monthly Deduction of N 10,200.00
3 month notice prior to resignation required after completion of probational period.
