Our client a Facilities and Management Services company, needs for urgent employment the following personnel:

Skilled Technician: Plumber
Overview:
The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

The plumber is responsible for implementing and maintaining a Preventive Maintenance Program for all plumbing equipment and systems. He performs the monthly Facility Inspection and submits all required reports. In addition to monthly Facility Inspection Report, the plumber is responsible for scheduling routine and required inspections of the relevant Systems. The plumber is the person most responsible for the continued inspection, maintenance and control of the equipment and systems.
The position:
Report to Lead Technician/Site Supervisor
Specific Responsibilities:

1. Maintain all building codes, installation requirements and relevant legislation
Main Activities

• Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
• Apply all codes to installations, repairs and maintenance
• Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded
• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes
• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements

2. Administer and schedule work
Main Activities

• Prepare budgets
• Prepare orders of supplies
• Keep daily reports
• Schedule work in cooperation with other trades and suppliers

3. Perform other related duties as required

General Responsibilities:

• Analyse each job assignment and consult with the Site Supervisor/Lead Technician to ensure materials are available
• Complete work orders inclusive of an inventory of labour and materials needed for each job
• Arrange for the proper disposition and follow up and reports the status of all requests until complete
• Assist the Lead Technician to perform the required work for all types of repair and maintenance
• Maintain all assigned appliances on site and be able to service them on an emergency basis
• Assist in scheduled preventive maintenance program
• Inspect the facilities and initiate needed repairs
• Follow all safety rules and procedures and assume the responsibility of ensuring others follow the same when working with you
• Follow all rules, regulations and policies of PLUMBER and follow all directives from supervisors
• Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor
• Perform other functions that may be assigned by Administration and/or supervisor
