Job Description
Our client seeks to recruit highly qualified and competent professionals to fill this vacancy arising from restructuring and expansion of the company’s operations

Position Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for providing leadership and direction to shipping, warehousing, clearing, and forwarding activities. This position directly supervises multiple personnel to maximize productivity across the shipside. The position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Federal and State shipping regulations and requirements

Duties and Responsibilities
Generally supervise shipside personnel and operations for tallying of cargo and other activities of vessels berthed at the harbour
Attend berthing and voyage meetings as well as liaise and relate with all the relevant agencies in the port environment
Ensure proper documentation through the Customs, shipping Companies, Terminal Operators and other Agencies for the clearance and dispatch of cargo from the port
Ensure smooth operations concerning the organisation’s transport and logistics needs in general
Plan, direct and coordinate operational processes to ensure customer orders are completed seamlessly
Analyze facility operations to ensure that the facility maintains high quality and safety standards to support the continued growth and profitability of the company
Work to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness

Qualifications and Experience
1st Degree qualification in a related field from a reputable institution
Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role within a large organization
Minimum of 5 years experience in a managerial capacity
Professional qualification/membership of a recognized body
