Job Description
Our client seeks to recruit highly qualified and competent professionals to fill this vacancy arising from restructuring and expansion of the company’s operations

Department: General Manager, Operation’s Office
Reports to: General Manager, Operations

General Responsibilities
Coordinate implementation of the HSE policy of the company and ensure safe work place and safe system of work.

Specific Responsibilities
Monitor compliance of all employees with the company’s safety rules and regulations.
Report all cases of accidents, near-misses and occupational health issues to the General Manager, Operations and other appropriate external bodies.
Compile records of all cases of violations, accidents, near-misses and occupational health occurrences for management information.
Carry out investigation of all accidents and incidents and recommend measures for prevention of future occurrence.
Counsel employees through safety talks on the importance of the use of PPE and other Safety Gadgets.
Monitor and report operational violations and no-compliances to the Safety Committee on monthly basis.
Establish procedures for enforcement of safety rules and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures for violation of the rules.
Liaise with government agencies on issues of safety, health and environment.
Carry out risk assessment of the company’s operations and recommend measures to control the risks.
Advise management on provision of appropriate PPE, Safety Signs and Health requirement of employees.
Work closely with the clinic to ensure availability of essential drugs.
Liaise with the factory management on daily basis on issues of Safety, Health and Environment.
Prepare annual audit report on Health, Safety and Environment to management before the end of the last quarter of every year.
Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the General Manager, Operations.

Personnel Specification
B.Sc/HND in any discipline from a recognized institution.
Professional certificate of competence in Health and Safety.
At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Knowledge of Nigeria Factory and Employee Compensation Acts.
