R equals 20.
Mean age =sum of ages/no. Of men
Let sum of age be = S
No of men = R
50=S/R, S = 50R............... (1)
Then
50-1 = (W-55-63)/ (R-2)
From which
W = 49R + 20 ....................... (2)
Sub d value of W in 2 from 1
50R = 49R + 20
Therefore
R = 20
Let the total age of R men = T
therefore, T/R = 50 ---- (i)
when two men age 55 & 63 left the club the total age becomes T - (55 + 63)= T - 118, no. of men left = R - 2
therefore there mean age will be,
(T - 11/ (R - 2) = (50 - 1)
(T - 11/ (R - 2) = 49
multiply both sides by (R - 2)
T - 118 = 49(R - 2)
T - 118 = 49R - 98
T - 49R = 118 -98
T - 49R = 20 --- (ii)
Recall from (i) that T = 50R
Therefore equ (ii) becomes
50R - 49R = 20
i.e R = 20 Q.E.D

[/quote]. Guy left to me,this ur question is so cheap.it's highly degrading asking great engineers,scientists,etc in the house for the solution.you should have asked sss3 students who are presently writing waec for the solution because I saw the question in the maths they wrote yesterday.this one is not a question!take note

@oseglobe have you ever attend aptitude test if you have you will see that most of the question the ask us is like this and student find it difficult to answer then on a more serious note when last did you look at your gmat and try to solve one or two question in there all we are saying no job no job. but you the best brain once are geting the job. guys we need to look at our book again to remain relivant to our noble profession and a economic. i believe if you score 80/100 in an aptitude test they have no choice than the employ you let try to be the first in every thing and second to none i know nigerian are good people great nation let do it again if you have aptitude test to right or an interview to attend pls prepare very well before you go and commit the interview into the hand of God you will see that every thing is working in your favour.
one we must make it because Jesus Made it
There r enough GMAT text books [fake and real] + SSS + JSS maths textbooks in the market, I don't see why I should b visiting naijahotjobs just to read a common entrance exam question. There is a time and place 4 everything. This question belongs in a junior waec or common entrance exam hall.
17th Wonder of the World
I just stumbled across d ? Now. Though guys has gotten d ans. But let me try my own style. M= €fx/€f 50= €fx/R......(1)
ie 50R=€fx.....(2)
also 49= [€fx-118]/[R-2]...(3)
ie 49[R-2]= €fx-118....(4)
expand ...(4)
€fx-118=49R-98..,(5)
substitute 50R for€fx in...(5)
50R-118=49R-98
collect like terms
50R-49R=-98+118
R= 20. OGA I APPRECIATE THE TEASER KEEP THEM FLOWING
