Group chief financial officer

Job Position Summary:

• The Group CFO is a strategic partner in running the business and plays a crucial role in providing central financial direction to all business units within Saro Group. Advice needs to be sound, reliable and timely, to meet the challenges of managing in a dynamic environment. The Group CFO will direct and oversee all financial functions of the group, including the development of financial policies, business strategies, top management financial reports, studies, forecasts and strategic business evaluations, in line with best practice and international accounting standards, in order to meet the business objectives of the group. S/he will develop the group financial strategy, policies, standards and guidelines, provide sound and reliable advice, opinions and guidance on all strategic financial and business matters relating to the businesses of SG. The GCFO will also provide sound evaluation and business reports on all matters having financial implications, including new business proposals and ventures.

Work Experience, Educational, and Skill Requirements

• Experience (5 – 7 years) in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
• Previous senior-level experience in a major business conglomerate (annual turnover above USD 100 million) will be an added advantage.
• Ability to effectively present to, and communicate with, board-level and investor-level stakeholders.
• An undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance, or accounting, is normally required. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate management degree is preferred; essential for those who do not have a business management background.
• Candidates must have completed relevant local and/or international accounting qualifications, such as the ACA, ACCA, and ACMA.
• Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organisation skills.
• Should have experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
