VACANCY FOR THE POST OF A FARM DRIVER |
Job Objectives | - To ensure safe and professional driving manner and act in accordance with traffic rules.
- To provide efficient driving service to designated delivery points and individuals within the organisation.
- To ensure safe delivery of all consignments (as required).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: | - Ensure the provision of efficient, effective and accident-free driving services.
- Ensure adherence to all traffic laws, speed limits, safety regulations, precautions and company procedures, ensuring the safety of the general public.
- Ensure defensive driving is practiced throughout every journey while being aware of potential hazards and ways to avoid them.
- Monitor and track regulatory requirements and notify appropriate Fleet Supervisor accordingly e.g. renewal of licenses, permits and any other specified documentation
- Ensures that vehicles documents and permits are renewed when due.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean, polished and in flawless operating condition.
- Perform periodic checks on the mechanical health of the vehicles to ensure optimally performance and notify the Fleet Supervisor accordingly:
- Ensure the vehicle is fueled regularly and maintain details of fuel costs for reporting purpose
- Repairs and maintenance, etc
- Ensure effective loading and delivery of consignments to the appropriate destination and at the right time.
- Communicate regularly with the Fleet Supervisor on the delivery status of consignments.
- Report all incidents involving injury or damage to property to the appropriate quarters immediately.
- Promote the company brand and endeavour to enhance the company’s image through appearance and behaviour.
- Promptly identify and report security issues that may affect road transportationand handle any emergency situations in accordance with company procedure.
- Provide daily status reports to the Operation Department and .Sales Department.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Sales Executive or Fleet Supervisor.

Competency and Skills Requirements: | - Good understanding of specific vehicle operating manual and devices
- Good knowledge and understanding of auto engines, operations and routine maintenance, mechanical parts and basic repair mechanisms.
- Good knowledge of prevailing traffic rules, laws and regulations, vehicle licensing procedures and national travel routine
- Good knowledge of various routes and road networks
- Good oral and written communication skills i.e. ability to transmit information effectively in clear, unambiguous terms.
- Relationship Management
- Possession of human skills (Ability to interact effectively with people - both staff and customers alike).
- Good customer service orientation (Ability to develop, build and maintain relationships with customers).
- Must be an energetic person with unusual initiative
- Must be resilient, influential and possess the ability to see the big picture
- Sound ethics and integrity.
- Must be discernibly honest and of consistent upright character
- Must be ethical

Minimum Qualifications: | - A minimum of SSCE/GCE/NECO Certificate or its equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years driving experience.
- Must possess the relevant class and valid driver’s license for the position.
