We are a premier Nursery and Primary School located in the central yet serene area of Wuse 2, Abuja. We offer a child centred blend of the British and Nigerian curriculum, incorporating cutting edge teaching techniques within a warm and nurturing environment.

In addition to the qualities listed below, our preferred candidates will be cheerful and tolerant individuals with a love for children. We expect an innovative and open minded approach to education, coupled with a practical understanding of the British curriculum and experience with working in a British School environment. We are also looking for computer literate individuals who can effectively utilize modern technology in the execution of their duties. Our ideal candidates have an excellent command of both spoken and written English, and are interested in being long term members of a diverse and rapidly developing learning community. Applicants with experience and/or qualifications in Special Education Needs will be at an advantage. Please note that applications WITHOUT verifiable teaching experience will NOT be shortlisted.
Responsibilities:
To contribute to the teaching of the Subject Specialism, and any other subject(s) for which a stated qualification is held or voluntary retraining has been undertaken and is deemed beneficial to the needs of the school.
To participate in the development of appropriate syllabuses, materials and schemes of work.
To plan, prepare and teach lessons to students according to their educational needs and in accordance with School Policies.
To implement agreed strategies for good classroom management and organisation and to take full professional responsibility for these in the first instance.
To work in conjunction with the Head of Department and Year Learning Coordinator in maintaining discipline in the classroom so that effective learning is not prevented.
To assess record and report the development, progress and attainment of students within the guidelines set down by the School / Department and the National Curriculum.
To participate in the School’s Performance Management Scheme where appropriate.
Qualifications/Experience:
At least 2 years experience in the following subjects – Math, English, Science, and Citizenship Education, Music, Art and Languages (including French and Mandarin Chinese).
Able to effectively teach pupils from 2 – 11 years old, incorporating practical and interactive learning methods.
Preference will be given to B.Ed degree holders with specialization in any of the above named subjects.
At least 3 years experience as subject or class teachers in a school of similar standard.
Must be a team player and able to work under pressure.
Proven ability to multi-task effectively.
