Re: WHAT KIND OF COMMUNICATION DO WE NEED IN MARRIAGE
@joyokiyi,
You should understand that there are various levels of communication both in and outside marriage.
There are three levels of communication, namely:
1. Cliche (just complementries, greetings)
2. Fact (Sharing what you know,exposing nothing about yourself)
3. Opinion (Your idea about things,you reveal little about yourself cautiously)
4. Emotion (Gut-level communication, emotional communication)
5. Transperency (Being completely open with the other person)
For more on these i'll recommend this book for your friend "Starting Your Marriage Right" by Dennis & Barbara Rainey. I read it and i can tell you i gained a lot from it.
Wish you happiness in your marriage.
Ciao
Re: WHAT KIND OF COMMUNICATION DO WE NEED IN MARRIAGE
Please can u contact me so that i can give u a book that can help ur friend a lot on communication within the family. Though not married but have benefitted much from the book. Am not in a position to tell u what ur friend should do cos i dont know the kind of family background she comes from and also her childhood experiences. But the book was able to present how we can build a lasting family relationship through open communication not only between husband and wife but also their kids based on God's Word. It examines varying childhood background and experiences that can hinder communication within the family and how to overcome it. The book is "The Secret of family Happiness" published by Jehovah's Witness. You can contact any of them if u cant reach me.
