Topic: UNIZIK lecturer, daughter murdered in Awka

A female lecturer at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, simply identified as Dr. Okoli, and her daughter were killed in their home in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Sunday.

Though details of the events surrounding the killings were still sketchy on Sunday, the killers were said to have invaded her home and hacked them to death.

The Director of Public Relations of the university, Mr. Emma Ojukwu, confirmed the incident but said he was still trying to get details about the lecturer and the incident when our correspondent called him.

He said the matter had been reported to the police at the Central Police Station, Awka.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka, copuld not be reached on his mobile phone.
