Tips to Increase Your Motivation

Motivation is what helps you to do everything you do. Without it, you cannot accomplish even those things that you want to do. If you find that you are not finishing projects, or doing what you want in life, look at what is keeping you from doing what you need to do. Maybe you are not motivated enough to push yourself to finish.

What is it that you want or need to do? You must first know what it is that you want. When you have figured that out, then you can begin to take the necessary steps to accomplish what you need to do.

Set goals for yourself. Setting goals helps to motivate you to finish what you have started. Be careful not to set such big goals that you get frustrated trying to reach them. Make them reasonable. If your goal is something big, break it down into more manageable parts.

Decide what your priorities are. Write them down if you need to. This will help you to remember, if you start to stray. Don't waste your time with things that you don't want to do, or that will not help you to reach the goals you have set. Letting other things distract you from what is important to you, can decrease your motivation.

Surrounding yourself with people or things that inspire you can help to motivate you. Is there someone you admire? Look up to? What is it about that person that makes you feel inspired? Watch that person and see what is it that helps them to keep motivated.

Make a conscious effort to be grateful for what you have. Always wanting more, and not being content with what you have, can make it difficult to feel motivated. Try to think of something everyday that you are grateful for. If you appreciate what you already have, it can make it easier to feel motivated to achieve more.
