Dont blame the Bank. Blame Sanusi Lamido Sanusi for whatever hidden agenda he has for the "SO Called" "TROUBLED BANKS".Quote:

Intercontinental bank is really a mad house.Infact i worked there.I decided to resign my marketing appointment voluntarily when i discovered that i could,nt cope with the pressure of unrealistic target.Thank God i took the right decision because i could,nt stand the humiliation of being sacked.it is a house where you are being threatened of lossing your job on a daily basis,no rest of mind.sleepless nights.
.House i want you to know that working in a bank is not a bed of roses.i am talking from the experience i had in intercontinental bank.
@gao, they lyk givin pple mad target.
@ God thefather, i'm sure you prefer an arrangement where only the poor are crying... The management of the bank squandered the future of those sacked, simple. did u not hear that the man recently withdrew 2billion from Intercontinental, in connivance with senior staff? is that bank his personal estate? Lets make informed commentary, or shut up and let intelligent people lead the way. Kudos to Lamido Sanusi, even if it really is a conspiracy
I really feel for those guys!!!! It is a different case wen u have never been employed. But to be employed once and become unemployed in the most dramatic of circumstances, its just crazy!!!! I really feel for them sha. Especially for them that already have that big boy swag. E no go easy oh!!!! MA y God be with all of them.
As for who to blame, I think the bank management is. With or without Sanusi, it would still have come to this. They were practically working for these Chief Executives, and the cookie would definitely have crumbled some how, some day. And that would have been more deadly since more people would have been involved.
Sorry to all my guys!!!!
@ Godthefather, i hope u're not trying to justify corruption, financial irresponsibility and lack of accountability and transparency on the guise that we want people to keep thier jobs. u shld know that if the cbn had not intervened, it wld've been more devastating because both jobs and people's money wld've gone down the drain. i sympatise with those affected and pray that God will open a new door of opportunities forthem. As for the rich who have vowed that the poor will not sleep, God in heaven will turn thier night to day (no sleep for them).
I have not seen this sort of restructuring in the history of the world.Developed economies shake when there is a high increase of job loss.the us economy for instance is a perfect example.the president of the federal reserves aim is to provide employment, this will on the long run increase productivity and boost economic activities. But sanusi is just turnig every thing the other way round. He wants to ensure that every banker losses his or her job.He does not know that this will send a ripple effect to the economy as a whole. In conclusion, for sustainability he needs to stop this madness.
@doze22 are u listening to yourself at all? it is good that he dealt with the bank CEO's but it is really sad that he is allowing the new management of inter and oceanic to fire so many people. Creating unemployment has never been known to help any economy. After all afri bank just announced that they will not be sacking anyone. or haven't u also read that sanusi has directed the to cut salaries by 30% saying that bank staff are overpaid? how do u explain such a silly statement? are u aware the oceanic bank has already concluded plans to shut down a great portion of it's branch network saying that their existence cannot be justified?
It now high time to allow revolution in this rich country with poor children, sick country governs by sick leaders, my people do u know that we have more than 6,000,000 graduates in this country without job, we can use this one as way out for us to invite revolution, if care is not taken just be in expectation of more fire from other sectors
I think Sanusi has done more harm than good since his inception as cbn gov.According to Pareto principle,a change is ok when it makes some pple betteroff without making others worseoff like this rising unemployment Sanusi policy has created.
I don't think Sanusi is to blame for the mass retrenchment neither do I know why people like to crucify Lamido, but from what I can gather some people prejudice him for his ethnicity, others for his strictness/openness (ie calling a spade a spade and not a spoon). If not for sanusi who "let the cat out of the bag" on time Soludo would have balled the economy. Personally, I believe in his competences and his vision.
My point is this: were the acused banks actually guiltless of the Sanusi's acusations? Coming back to the Intercontinental Issue, I sympathize with all affected. Oceanic bank is not left behind. These days, they just keep debiting my account for no just course. I abandoned them when they couldn't renew my ATM in Abuja but asked me to go to Lagos (where the account is domiciled) to renew it and that I cannot do.
This is real madness, u dont restructure economy in a way dt d populace will bear d brunt. JUST YESTERDAY, OCEANIC BANK LAID OFF 2000 of her workforce. Is this Sanusi's way of impoving d economy? AFRIBANK DSA's have received offer letters since July but are yet 2 resume!!! Major marketers in d oil industry now complain dt they dont av enough money to lift fuel (hence d scarcity) becos there's no access to loans...........
The same Sanusi dt said bankers are overpaid was part of those who did upward review of salary when he was 1st bank MD!!!
I'm afraid that Nigeria is heading for serious crisis if this continues.......
@godthefather
if u were affected,am sorry.but what other members are saying is the truth.has interb.recruited since 2007? that shows that it has beeen sick since then.change has come.
@Layla, Intercontinental have been recruiting since, they even did recruitment early ds year. Lets face the facts please.
WE ARE ON A CRASH CURSE.WE NEED NEW PEOLE TO PILOT THE AFFAIRS OF THIS COUNTRY.........WISH WE COULD GET THE PAST AND PRESENT PPLE WHO HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THIS AND BLOW THEM UP. AND START ALLOVER AGAIN
WILL BE BEST. :(
what fact r u talking abt? Intercontinental is a bank dat does a lot of IM and I think that has to stop. Imagine going to one of the branches and a member of the CSU couldn't even speak GOOD ENGLISH, I mean he couldnt even converse with me in plain english, what do u call dat? One of Akingbola's people, I guess. To tell u d truth, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is doing a GOOD/GREAT jab and would even win awards end of the year.
To the affected bankers, God will make a way when there is no way... :)
its really a sad time for those affected by the intercontinental bank saga but house lets not blame sanusi too much cos most organisation top shot are largely responsible for most of this crises. where i last worked the project was short lived bcos our so call ogas squandered the whole fund for the project making poor masses like myself jobless again.
Infact, those affected in this intercontinental issue should take heart and throw their burden to GOD.This is not time for blames. This is in fulfillment of bible's prophecy that in the last days, critical times hard to be will here.So it is even hard for SANUSI to discern the right thing to do.For the top men in these banks they are influenced by spirit of the world controlled by the devil ( spirit of materialism ).We all should be careful so as not to be influenced. We should ask ourselves: 'If I am in similar situation what would I have done? Man cannot save the situation.Take for instance the present economic recession. It is global. So never trust your earthly belongings......
@ doze22: just go on and give ur self 22dose of misinformation. \as far as i am concern here, do not knw shit. ''...even if it is a conspiracy, kudos to \sanusi...'' what kind of contradictory statement are u making in the house. now u tell me who's unintelligent For the sake of not talking out, i want to assure you that Sanusi is not doing well. U can come to my office at the Customs HQ, if u so wish to knw whats going on in the banking sector.. I bet he is going for your balls, and you're praising him. folo, folo make u open eye.
@ Maxweber, how many hours u make? Thanks for the reminder anyway.Quote:

House,we should stop blaming the woes of the banking sector on Sanusi but rather on the mischievious and unscruplous sacked MDs on whom livelihood of so many Nigerians hinge on their ability to engender their oversight functions of good coorporate governance, ethical and core banking practices, risk potfolio management and what have you.If these ill-mannered individuals have no skeleton of sharp practices, unprofessionalism in their cupboards i dont think the axe of Sanusi would have fell on them, their banks and their cohorts eventhough Sanusi has a nothern, eastern or whatever agenda you call it.Why not the UBA,GTB and ZENITH of this world.Up til as am writing, former CIBN and ex Md of Intercontinental bank Erastus Akingbola is at large.
Since feb this year,ve finished PHB's training, only if they wil cal me tomorow just because of one man ATUCHE whose avaricious quest for illicit wealth have plunge the bank into an unprecedented financial lull. These individuals have commited a crime to humanity and must not go scot free.LET THE EVIL THEY'VE PERPETUATED BEGIN HAUNT THEM.I sincerely sympatize with fellow Nigerians who have lost their jobs to this messy shake up.life continues.
@ISLE ONLY IF JUSTICE WILL BE DONE......BUT I BET U BEFORE U KNOW IT ALL THIS PEOPLE YOU KNOW CAUSED ALL THIS WILL GO SORT FREE.......AND THE MASSES BY THEN HAVE EVEN SUFFERED MORE.DON"T GET ME WRONG I ONLY WISH THEY DO THE RIGHT THING AND BRING THIS PEOPLE TO BOOK.BUT THE QUESTION IS WILL THEY??????????????
AKINGBOLA IS A DEVIL.I ONLY REGRET DAT HE IS A PASTOR AT REDEEM.
May God forgive allf you that are casting aspersions on the sacked bank MDs.......... But try and put yourselves in the shoes of these people, would you have performed better???????????????? I dont think it has reached the level of calling someone a thief??? @ Iyiola, are you a saint or are you God yourself???? Pls stop judging others..........
The fact still remains that Sanusi should take the bulk of the blame for all the happenings in the economy of Nigeria. THANK YOU......
See you all @ the TOP................
@iyiola Johnson, mind the way you talk in a forum like this. How can u calld a fellow human being a devel dt means u urself is an ogre!
By the way mention any significant improvement since Sanusi's inception!!
I pray d -ve effect of his policy won't affect us cos it affected a nephew of mine@inter.
@IYIOLA JOHNSON, Being a pastor does not mean that one cannot fail.We all are imperfect and we are only counted righteous by 'GOD'S UNDESERVED KINDNESS'. JESUS even made it clear that some will use his name to decieve people - Matt 24: 3; Do you know that this present system of things ie this world is ruled by Satan the devil? John 14:30; 2 corint 4: 4. So anyone can be easily influence unless we are spiritualy awake and on the watch, infact it is a wrestling against the wicked spirit forces which only GOD can only help us to conquer. So this is not the time for casting aspersions on the MDs or SANUSI but this calls for a sober reflection as regards the time we are living in and take neccessary actions bcos our deliverance is at hand. For those affected accept my sympathy and take solace in GOD for HE will not allow you and your families to totter.I am a living evidence of GOD'S CARE,LOVE AND PROTECTION.Thank you all......
I wonder why any reasonable person would say sanusi took a step in d ryt direction.
Fine, a good step but in d wrongest direction. what are the supporting ingredients he has added to this policy. maybe u guyz av 4gotten CBN is the controller of the economy, what has sanusi contributed to the nigerian economy?nun. what negative(s) has he impacted?uncountable.
people say d MDs stole money? which money? how much of your money...? since sanusi came in, what has happened to investors' funds? probably, d disappearing value of investors' funds in the capital market is only seen in the so called "troubled banks". i tell u, sanusi can neva heal the wounds of that sector even if they dash him 100tenure+ as the CBN govr cos he lacks a clear understanding of the the correlation that exist btw the banks and the nigerian economy as regards devt.
anyway, i dont believe he has any alterior motives; just that he is over-excited;that's y hs's misbehaving.
???
@godthefather,you earned my respect during FIRS tests, when you were giving us some briefs.but for you to lose composure now bcos of what is happening @intercontinental bank is not manly.you pick offer any how.are you giving us ur real personality or something? man, take it easy and live up to the name you adopted here.u are not the first person to be relieved of his job.
stop threathening me bcos i dont have anything personal against you.i leave you in peace.
@maxweber
i like ur lines.thats typical of JWs-isnt it? people turn out to be too emotional because of what is happening to them.worse things happen to other people.but we are warned that," when they say peace and security, sudden destruction will be upon them as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman".God forbid that we lose now and lose forever.may we go back to our creator for solutions to our problems.
@layla, Yeah man, that would be the worst losing now and losing forever. We should not put our trust in Nobles becos they can disappoint but for our creator it is impossible for him to lie nor disappoint.Let's run to HIM now b4 it is too late. There is no blame, suggestions or opinions on this issue here that can bring a permanent solution to our problem instead GOD has it all.He only wants us to recognize that he is the Universal soveriegn.Man cannot direct his steps closely talkless of that of others - Jer 10:23 can't we see why we fail?It is time we turn to him o! PLS NO BLAMES, THIS IS THE TRUTH.PLS BELIEVE IT LET'S BE 'FREE'
my worry is would anyone that has ever tasted money ever want to stop tasting money?
one thing we must know is that the bankers that are involved in the sack sagga will always want to look for other ways to make up. remember that despite the huge sum of money bankers earn as salary, they still happen to be the poorest (i.e no money in their account), now compare it with when they dont even earn salary anymore. let me say this THE RICH MEN ARE IN TROUBLE cos crime rate is on the verge of moving to the peak.
@doze22, u've said it all, do u guys know that if not for Sanusi's quick intervention, the worst predicament could have happened to those banks, they wld have eventually closed down those banks instead of just sacking some of their staff. At least we all know how much billions of naira was injected to those affected banks and yet, they are still seriously shaking. Those that were laid off pls do accept ma sympathy, the good God will surely provide a better one, He always have a good way of doing His things.
Infact, it is time we start having a proper view of money.I wonder most times when people who said that come what may 'I must go to heaven' they are not contented with what they have. They pursue wealth like anything. They forget that in heaven money is valueless. But don't get me wrong I'm not saying that money is not essential in this present world but we don't have to be greedy. We should know that those who has hope of going to heaven devote much of their time in things of GOD.I'm not saying they don't work, they do, but they live a simple live and even are more generous and hospitable to people.
Thousands of jobs lost in each bank last week as a "Christmas Bonus and Happy New Year" right? Bank branches to be merged because of overbloated workforce. Prepare for a rough 2010. Nothing happy about the new year. The recession/financial crises/economic meltdown continues. As usual fuel scarcity and inflation usher in a year. Sick president ruling a sick nation. Tighten your seat belt. We are moving into a rough year nothing happy about it. Last days are here.
Do we now realize that previous years has been better than present years or next year?Things are not getting better. It is going to be worse next year unless GOD'S KINGDOM is coming next year when the righteous would shout halelujah! And a HAPPY NEW WORLD while those in heaven will rule as kings over the new world of mankind free from favoritism, prejudice, sin, sickness, death and above all unemployment. This is really a goodnews 4 all people. If we all acknowledges this, I think GOD will come to our rescue.SANUSI or no sanusi this problem would had happened becos it had already been foretold.
I believe its high time we all change our perceptions about working in a bank, i remember when my friend's dad told me that in those days when u tell somebody u are working with Daily Times Newspaper, u are regarded as a 'big boy' bt where are they 2day? But when ds banks still have many applicants visiting their sites daily, ds situation will stil continue, 2day we talking about sacking, do u all know dt there was a time when bankers were using charms "juju" on themselves? If u dnt know ask old pple who have worked in a bank, my words are we shld all wish and pray 2 work in other sectors of the economy rather than banking so dt all ds nonsense will stop bcos only ds sector have been creating 2much problems in ds country, we all know what happened b4 wit all their 25b whatever.
If you have lost your job, it requires great faith to follow Jesus admonition in Luke 12:29-31.Still, by giving prioty to spiritual things and trusting in God, you too can live a simple, balanced life.Doing so will help you to reach out for ''the real life''-eternal life in God's new world of righteousness, where all work will be enjoyable and no effort will be in vain.- 1 Timothy 6:17-19; Isaiah 65: 21-23. This is not time for properity commonly preached by pastors. They are not supporting GOD if they continue saying this.......
