LIVING HOPE

When u take a look as the year 2008 is going off,many graduates in

this country have been thinking seriously on how they can get at least a

job not to talk about good paying jobs.Many graduates have lost hope in

this grate country,thereby doing menial jobs.A lot of us walk about & do

our day to day activities with hopelessness hanging around our heads. We

are so good at masking how much pain,confusion & despair we suffer from.

We seem to have lost faith in the economic system, security system,

educational sector, family life, marriages, children, friends, relationships etc.

Everything around us depicts the world is crashing right before our very

eyes. Where do we go from here? There’s no sense of purpose & it’s

difficult to express ones feelings’ because all hope is gone.

Do you feel hopeless, dejected, distant as if you’ve lost it all, do you think

you can’t make that progress you’ve always desired? Have you lost faith in

people you trusted, or to put it simply HAVE YOU LOST HOPE/FAITH IN

YOURSELF? It’s time to ’shake off the dust’ & allow hope rise again.

What is hope? It’s the belief that there would be a positive change in our

circumstances/situations although what is evident may seem contrary. It’s

an anchor to keeping/staying positive with life. It’s a form of dependence

ascribed to God, human beings (eg spouses, children, friends, colleagues

etc.) A lot of us have lost hope due to the circumstances surrounding us,

the news from the media is not encouraging at all, it speaks of wars, debt,

unrest etc, the society we live in is fearful, filled with crime & hatred,some

of us have been betrayed by those we love, our hearts have been broken,

hopes dashed, our feelings taken for granted, for some it may be painful

words spoken to us demeaning our character & sense of judgement etc

Many of us have written apptitude tests and gone for interviews,and at the

end just because we are from one particular tribe,we were not given the

job.This is one of my experience with one oil servicing company in

portharcourt.But GOD forbid that i should kill myself because i was not

given the job.Life continues

A word of advice , KEEP HOPE ALIVE. No matter how difficult it is, hope

must arise & grow. For hope to thrive or grow it requires human

effort/cooperation & when it grows it gives rise to a sense of

purpose/fulfilment.

What does hope require?

It entails you:

Stay positive at all times, even through the thick storms of life. Always

remember, your darkest clouds should be your finest hour.

Be optimistic even in the face of defeat. Never doubt/lose your potentials etc.

Have faith first of all in God then yourself, with a view to believing the

future is bright.

Avoid doubtful thoughts. Doubt is one of the characteristics of self defeat.

Stay focused and make sure your goals are clearly spelt out.

Be committed to seeing positive changes in your life.

Form healthy relationships. Positive/happy people tend to boost our level

of confidence.

Show some determination to see your creative imagination become a
reality.

Learn to show apprecaition & love to people.

Remember GOD can change your life.
