Re: to leave my present company or not
Z, if you quit without something to move on to,then yo better have the faith of GOD!
or else, you will feel like killing urself if you stay home for a week,
so girl, just hold on,and build ur career.
i am almost certain it will come in handy soon,- i mean the experience.
then they are gonna have to give you an astronomic raise,or u leave them for a better job, only when it comes.....
i know exactly how u feel, ciz i have been there.just pray,a little more.

Re: to leave my present company or not

Re: to leave my present company or not
Guy, my candid advice is for you to quit the job and use the money and evergy in looking for another one, except u dont av a good result, if u do another job will come, if u stay there, u might mis opportunities. but it a though decision. all the best.

Re: to leave my present company or not
A BIRD IN HAND IS WORTH THREE IN THE BUSH. IF U LEAVE THAT JOB TODAY, A MILLION AND ONE PEOPLE WILL JUMP AT IT BCOS THE COUNTRY AS A WHOLE IS FULL OF JOBLESS PEOPLE. MY ADVICE TO U THOUGH IS TO MEET WITH THE MANAGEMENT AND TELL THEM YOUR PLIGHT, THEY MIGHT SEE REASON AND THEN GIVE U HELP IN WAY THEY COULD, IT MIGHT BE TEMPORARY ACCOMODATION OR A LOAN TO GET A HOUSE NEARBY. BUT DON'T LEAVE NOW. PRESENTLY, I AM INTO A TEACHING JOB EVEN THOUGH I READ PETROLEUM ENGINEERING, AND I AM PAID N15,000, FROM WHICH I DON'T EVEN HAVE A SAVINGS ACCOUNT. THE ONLY REASON I AM GOING TO LEAVE IS BCOS I MIGHT BE GOING BACK TO SCHOOL FOR MY PGD/MSc.

Re: to leave my present company or not
Where do I start? Let me tell those who dont know. It is wat better to stay at home than to be employed in an enslavement camp.Trust me I am telling you bcos I have been there. Many of you think it is better to have somewhere to go in the morning and I have noyhing against that. What I have something against is to live in fool paradise.Listen girlfriend, you only know where the shoes pinches. If it is not paying well dont waste your time about it. First youve been surviving before acquiring the job and God knows you will survive after the job. I was once in your shoes and to be sincere I know where it pinches. Most of these people have not been there and they tell you to keep on sufferring but believe me I've been there and nothing good comes out of it. Though we are all trying to help but the deciding factor is you. You are a graduate, calculate what you earn minus what you spend as transport and feedind allowance and your saving,if it doesnt add up.I will advice you to quit and allow the shallow minds to take up your post you will discover you are better off staying at home than them that claims they are working(in slavery)if you want to know,I did quit my job and at home lounging and seriously searching for another opportunity.
Best of luck girlfriend. The sky is not the limit it is just the pathway to the galaxy.

Re: to leave my present company or not
Dear Z',
Honestly, it is very painful when one is working and nothing to show for it.You really need to sit down and think on the type of job u want for urself. As an economics graduate, u really do not have much to fear.Keep applying and learn how to sow into the things of God.I know him: he will give u your heart desire. As per ur Job,if you hate the Job totally u can take a bow but if not, still hold onto it.You can also talk to your boss to move u to Account section of the company where u can be useful to the company and your experimental upfront would have been taken care of.It wouldn't be a bad idea if u could register with ICAN.However ,you got to be determine, discipline and focus.Surely, u will laugh last .Shalom
Yours
Jibowu

Re: to leave my present company or not
Guy, your case is a piece of cake.I served in Zamfara, was never able to save a dime. After service, i got a job with a private engineering firm that gets job only when there is a contract.I was paid 1500/day, after two months it was increased to1700/day.Then, we had a contract @ Ikoyi & i lived & Ilogbo in Ojo LGA.Then i spend #800/day on TP.Later, i got another job with a construction firm @ Ilupeju.#50,000/month but i spend nothing less than #18,000/month on TP.
If you leave the job youv'e got, without geting another then you must be very very stupid.Jobs are hard to find these days thats why we have naija hot jobs.Whoever tells you to leave the job when you've not gotten another, doesnt like you.You are a graduate, sit up an start dealing with the real world.

Re: to leave my present company or not
The bible says "do not depise the days of your little begining". Let it be known to you that if you are faithful with the little you have, God will because of your faithfulness reward you with something bigger than you expect. Please instead of compaining, my man talk to God about it, thank God u have a qualification and u are alive. There is Hope.

Im not only affected with the payment. not only when i was recruited did i realised that the mgt is fond of not paying on time. they ve not paid all workers not only me for that three month.

Re: to leave my present company or not
my advice is that if you have a friend or relative staying close to agidingbi, you should stay with them.quitting your job is not the best option.

Re: to leave my present company or not
Well as for me, hmmmmmmmm. You said they are yet to pay your for 3months. Then the answer is sraight and forward: "your employers don't have a plan for you". It is better you start having plans for yourself. The best plan to have for yourself is to what? === MOVE.
I bet you, there are better things ahead. The money you spend on transport, put it to one training program or another, an i bet you; you'll have achieved something instead of wasting your precious time and you also have to consider the traffic condition..... PELE=sorry. :P

Bosun, since u siad u're not sure of the job your brother has to offer, dont leave ur present one, 'though the painful thing wit this contract employment is dat by the time dey staff u, ur salary will be low compared to ur contemporaries dat were employed as a staff straight(speaking from experience in manufacturing sector)
Let ur Bros find u sometin solid to hold on to before u leave (if atall), if u're a christian pray & fast, ask God to give u directions, and im sure he will.
Be alert, keep faith, its well
