If 9 persons can do a piece of work in 12 days. Let solve it as slated bellow:
Let x denote the piece of job.
x job divided by 9 persons, was done in 12 days.(Mathematically;x/9 =12 days)
x = 9*12
x = 108.
108 / 9 = 12days
FOR 4 PERSONS:
108 / 4 = 28 days.Ans. 4 persons will finish the same job in 28 days.
FOR NUMBER OF PERSONS THAT WILL DO IT IN 3 DAYS:
108 / numbers of persons(y) = 3 days
3y(number of perrsons) =108
3y / 3 = 108 / 3
y (number of persons ) = 36 persons
Therefore 36 persons will finish the same job in 3 days.

...Since the job has been completed by 9 persons,
then there will be no job for the other 4 persons to do
and nobody will be required to do the job since it's been completed!

4 people will finish the job in 27days while 36 people will finish it in 3days

@adadjibola...Time up! With this ur in-depth analysis, you might just be able to answer only question 1 before time runs out ... Also, always check your final answer correctly so you don't still miss the question after spending much time on the calculation. From your calculation,it is supposed to be 108/4 = 27days; not 28days.

LET P= PERSONS AND D = DAYYS.

THEN USE P1D1 = P2D2. MAKE D UNKNOWN (D2 IN THIS CASE) THE SUBJECT OF THE FORMULA AND THESE ARE D ANSWERS (27 & 36 respectively)
