HOUSE PRAYERS DAY: Can Prayer Solve Nigeria Job Seeker Plight?

A Nigeria's largest career forum naijahotjobs.com is canvassing for a prayer and fasting day tagged HOUSE PRAYERS scheduled to hold this weekend Friday, 31:10.08 and extends till Sunday 02:11:08. The major aim is for job seeker to approach all- knowing God to intervene on most of challenges facing this nation, Nigeria and that invariably rendered them jobless. The mode is individual and should be coupled with fasting.

Based on the development, and as a fellow concerned job seeker, I think it behoove us to weigh the issue at hand. And ask, Can prayer solve Nigerian job seekers plight?

My own experience and plight, in search of job, is the smallest of what millions of Nigerian graduates face daily in their quest to contribute their quota to socio-economic development of our nation. And thereby afford themselves a daily bread. I graduated in October, 2006 as third best student in the department of Electrical Power and Machine Engineering, Federal Polytechnic Ede and had sacrificed, through selfless service and under the sun and the rain, a year to my father land.

Since then, I had been applying to most of Industries and Organizations who, may be, due to “due process” advertised their vacancies and courtesy of www.naijahotjobs.com initiator of HOUSE PRAYERS. I had attended and put my best into handful of interview, yet none has call me for appointment. To make the end meet, I am now working with a cybercafé where I earn monthly N7000.00 as manager. Hilarious? The plight of Nigerian job seeker.

In the course of these series of Aptitude Tests and Interviews, I met graduates of different range of level, grade, skill and talent. On most occasions, they have been subjected to inhumane treatments. Among them is the well publicized immigration recruitment earlier this year. At times they are treated as criminal or trout and often call for test were received, where no test is actually taking place.

I have met at these centers, Nigerian MSC holder earning N15,000.00 and less monthly, when Senators’ lunch allowance is around 114,000 per day. Many HND and B Sc holders were rooming the street, jobless and unable to meet collateral demands by the banks, though they seek to embrace SMEs initiatives. You may ask, are these fleet of graduates qualified? I can firmly say YES. Did they have needed skills? Of course. Why then, after so many years and attempts, are they still jobless?

There are many factors at work; individual, institutional and the major, Nigeria factor. Individual shortcomings and problems precipitates to institutional hurdles of favoritism disguising as ‘long leg’, man- know-man’ and the likes, but major factors are the unaddressed issue in our polity.

Top on this list is bad governance and corruption, coupled with individualism, selfish disposition of our leaders and monarchs, bad and visionless leadership, lack of accountability and poverty. These are major issue that need to be addressed if industries will be resuscitated, jobs generated, SMEs initiative will be possible and Vision 2020 realized. And, are Nigerian governments quite on these issues? Many reforms were initiated by past and present government to address them unfortunately they deepen their failure.

So, if our best initiative fails, is high time we sought for assistance to these plight and ordeal from God. Yet the concept of seeking God’s help should not be like proposition of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo. Who, after spending trillions of Naira on power sector, said only God’s help can rescue the sector. But we must approach God because he beckons us to come.

He said “When I shut up the heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people. If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” 2 Chronicle 7: 13 -14

I will at this point commend the initiator of HOUSE PRAYERS, naijahotjobs.com and call on all and sundry to seize this opportunity, and observed Friday, 31.10.08 to Sunday 02.11.08, to right the wrong and redirect Nigeria on a profitable track. Because where human effort fails, divine intervention will prevail.

dear dvt, the problem definitely is not with Nigeria per say but it is embedded in the dirty hearts of Nigerians especially those that managed to ferry themselves dubiously into the corridors of power where they now see themselves as demi-gods who must be revrenced by all and sundry.Majority of these guys bought their qualification with money so I am not in the least suprised when i see the way they try to frustrate bright candidiates who came for employment and the reason for this disaffection on their part is not far fetched. They are usually afraid for their own safety knowing that the day will always beat the night in a contest any day any time. However, my solace rests in the fact that pregnancy can never be covered by the ten fingers, morover their is a sure expiring date for evil men, it is only time and posterity that will vindicate us.
on the issue of prayer,i think it will not be a bad idea for us to pray for ourselves because if it is good for us definetly it will be good for the country. also we can also spare a little time to pray for this wicked breed of Nigerians because the bible said we should pray for those that oppress us even for our enemies....furthermore this experiences will be for the better if we as the next generation will be able to draw tangible inferences from them and treat those behind us with dignity. God bless Nigeria,God bless Us, God bless this house.........ONE LUV
    be good all the time

I have often ask myself who are the most frastrate people in the soceity I think I need not go further for thwe answer - the graduate.Every graduate scheme in this country is design for one thing to frustrate the young. If not how do you explain the plight of JAMB student after going through that hurdle you meet Mr post UME as fit that is not enough you are engage in countless strikes, sexual abuse, cultism, examination malpractice, etc during your school days on graduation you meet Mr unemployment infact most of the ad I see here I always apply with a grain of salt the najia factor is indeed useless.
But if prayers cannot solve the problem then what can?
    only God can save us.

BEWARE OF E.BREAKTHROUGH ( FAKE RECRUITEMENT AGENGY)

    House,
Pls i want every member of the house to watchout 4 fraudulent e.breakthru. It is painful that in this country of ours some porous minded fools will go and make arrangement with some companies to dubbed jobseekers especially FRESH GRADUATE.

they are nothing but THIEFS who are taking advantage of the unemployment SITUATION in Nigeria to extort money from unsuspecting jobseekers.

If I have my way, I would handover them to the EFCC.

God says in Ps 50:15, call upon Me in the days of ur trouble and I will ans u. In Matt 7:7, He says ask and it shall be given un2 u, seek and u will find, knock and it shall be open un2 u.
In Ezekiel 12:28 He says there shall be nor of my word prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done.
My follow jobseekers, it is well with us. as long as we have called on Him in all this trouble, and we are asking seeking and knocking at His door He will definately ans us.

    Prayer Did it for me.

I graduated in 2005 with a Bsc in Human Physiology, but was delayed till 2007 before i was given the "privilege" to serve my father land.

These years spent at home were "gainfully" used teaching in a private primary school were i was paid 5,000 monthly. That was just to keep mind and soul together.
Service came up 2007 and i was posted to the Niger Delta.

    "Lucky Me", Right?
I served joyfully with an NGO (I really had a nice time, they were really a family to me), and stayed back when i finished hoping to make some of the "Oil Money" but i ended up in an insurance firm paying me 15,000, (full payment of which was subject to my being able to bring in clients).

MY PEOPLE, MY EYES HAVE SEEN ENOUGH THINGS.

But all along i was praying to God for a Banking Job, and was always applying through Naijahotjobs.

I wrote 2 bank tests but heard nothing.

Then just last week, i read a guys Testimony that he prayed and God gave him many offers. So i Prayed and told God the same Thing. "I Want many Job offers so i can pick the best".

I also read about a lady who asked God to Perfect her Employment in Seven Days, and God did it, so on sunday (26th October), i also asked God to perfect mine too within seven days.
    Guess what?

I was invited for an interview on Monday,i went wrote the test and passed, i was asked to resume next Monday, (Oct 3rd), another Company invited me for another interview on Friday but i didn't attend because God had already answered my prayers on Tuesday.

Bank PHB sent a text congratulating me of passing a test i wrote since August. That is the Bomb.
So, Who says God doesn't hear?
Tap into this and pray for yourself.

    God is listening.

Just Speak to Him and stop complaining.
For more of what He has done for me, you can contact me on [email protected]
    God Bless.

Re: HOUSE PRAYERS DAY: Can Prayer Solve Nigeria Job Seeker Plight?

It is indeed great to pray; a communication between man and his maker.
Some people may get answers in a day, a month or in years. God is sovereign and determines how HE acts. His main aim is to have His Will done - which clearly is making people ''holy''. '' Seek ye first the kingdom of God and live righteously and all other things shall be added unto you''.

Everyone will work out his destiny, some started earlier while others will yet start but the principal thing is PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens).

One love house and always praise God, The Bible says don't say bad things about your rulers. ''Nigeria will be great''.

Congratulation. With God all things are possible. I believe there is an appointed time for everyone. When it is your time, then it is your turn. Job seekers out there, don't loose hope, focus and faith in God.
Also, be persisted and be expectant. Remember the word of God says " The expectations of the righteous shall not be cut off".
God can still give you a lucrative job before the end of this year if you believe in yourself and in God.
    Thanks

It amounts to self-deceit for anyone to undermine the wonderous power of God. Try him today, and see the difference. Congrats my colleagues.

God never Fails...I want to also use this medium to let people know that Our God is in deed a mercyful God.

I had thesame problem while seeking for a Job....I did all kinds of shits in Nigeria to earn a living. Onething I know is that for those who donot have the connection should get closer to God.

Daniel 11vs 32...Remember that it is written that those that know their will do great exploit...
