No, it's unfair if any organisation should do such.
My people,the truth of the matter is that if an applicant is positive,be sure that he/she will be disqualified,infact it is not only in HIV cases,if you suffer from any terminal disease like diabetes,sickle cell,Tuberculosis,its simply disqualification,i got to know this when i went for my medicals,i asked the guy in charge and he explained that if an applicnt suffers from a terminal disease,the hospital will not recommend the applicant as fit,this is discrimination at its peak,God help us.
U can take this case up with the court, i bet you not only will you win the case you would also get the Job.
But you really can`t blame the employers though. Health is a critical issue considered by any Recruiter. God`s grace.
Atillary is right cos the problem starts with the medical reports and the zillion number of unemployed graduates. Once it is acertained that one is not fit the employer will not ask 4 the details or inquire further cos they know that so many applicants still line up 4 D same position.
The concept is self explanatory!
Though it is discriminating, but no employer will like to employ the services of one who much will be invested in, but will deliver the required services for only a short while!
It's not every organisation though.
Companies may not want to employ a person who is Hiv+ or with other serious ailment. In fact, if an employer finds out that an employee is Hiv +, such an employee may be relieved of his or her job. If health is not important, there may be no reason for running medical test on potential employees.
QUICK DISQUALIFICATION. IF YOU ARE A NEW INTAKE DEFINATELY THEY WILL FIND AN EXCUSE FOR DISQUALIFYING YOU. THEY CAN NEVER TELL YOU IT IS BASED ON YOUR HEALTH STATUS BUT IF YOU ARE ALREADY WORKING THEY MIGHT NOT HAVE MUCH TO DO.
Well i no someone dt just started working in GTB and she is a sickle cell person, so pple shd stop saying dt they cannot b employed ooo.
There is no part in the labor laws of nig dt state dt they shdnt b employed.
Infact that is called LABOR DISCRIMINATION and it shdnt b so.

I dont think u will be disqualified. i went for chevron's medicals sometime ago and i asked d doc after i did d test wat wld happen if i was +tive and he told me dat it wouldnt disqualify me. There is a law dt discriminate dat and u'll be employed if u wear a kind of identity so dt pple can know. There are some chevron staffs living wit HIV and proudly doing well and not discriminated. Anyway i'm negative.
HIV + candidates are not disqualified but any organization that does it shld be stopped. Why? They r not helping with the Anti-AIDS campaign
