Total Exploration and Production Nigeria has said that a lot of milestones have been achieved towards the realisation of the completion of the development of Egina in 2017.
According to the company, such milesstones achieved in the past few months include the procurement of the drilling tubulars, the gas export and water injection line pipes, the first wellheads set, the steel cutting in-country for living quarters and subsea manifolds, and finally last week, the sail away of the Drilling Rig West Jupiter to Nigeria.
These achievements are being complemented by the recent groundbreaking ceremony for the start of construction of major infrastructural development associated with Egina project, the floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) integration project designed to support the in-country development that took place at the Lagos deep sea oil and gas free zone (LADOL).
The modules built in Nigeria will be integrated onto the FPSO in 2017.
“Egina is a key project for Total in Nigeria and a strong partnership with the Nigerian government, other international companies (IOCs) and local contractors. Projects such as Egina empower Total to further demonstrate our true commitment to the Nigerian economy and its people,” said Elisabeth PROUST, managing director/chief executive, Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI)
She said in furtherance of the Nigerian Content Development policy and with the project’s detailed engineering being carried out in Nigeria, Total had ensured that Samsung Heavy Industries and other main Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors were contributing to the development and growth of other Nigerian yards such as Aveon, SCNL, Pipe Coaters Nigeria Limited (PCNL), EWT/Nestoil in Port Harcourt area and Nigerdock, Dorman Long in Lagos.
TUPNI has a 24 percent interest alongside the OML 130 partners: NNPC (Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation), SAPETRO (South Atlantic Petroleum) of Nigeria, CNOOC Limited of China and Petrobras of Brazil.
When completed, Egina will add 200,000 barrels of oil equivalent to Nigeria’s production.

If NNPC can delay recruitment for 2years, TEPNG will definitely conclude their process, let us be patient.
There is a new development with regards to TEPNG's recruitment. TOTAL GROUP has develop a new recruitment site which makes the old one inaccessible.TOTAL intends to use the site effect from Mid-2015.Total Nigeria will have to complete this recruitment before mid 2015. I am just wondering how are we going to update our CV if the reason calls for it.

Drilling Program Begins on the Deepwater Egina Field in Nigeria
December 22, 2014
The newbuild West Jupiter drillship reaches Nigerian waters.
December 12 marked a milestone for the Egina project in Nigeria, as an intensive drilling program got under way. Two rigs will be kept busy for a total of 3,000 days, drilling 44 wells in water depths ranging between 1,400 and 1,700 meters. “This is the deepest offshore project ever operated by Total,” comments Jean-Michel Guy, Executive General Manager of the Egina Project. “With production of 200,000 barrels per day, it will contribute significantly to achieving Total’s 2017 production objectives.”
But for Total, Egina also emphasizes Nigerian content. Several thousand local jobs will be created and extensive local infrastructure (mainly yards) will be upgraded or built, contributing to Nigeria's sustainable development. This win-win situation should enable Total to productively pursue a partnership that began more than 50 years ago.

Possible workforce reduction; Low oil prices.....
From a HR standpoint, the processes are complete for most disciplines and successful candidates have been decided.
Nothing 'may' happen while the global situation is monitored.
