Responsibilities
Develop and provide in-depth software
expertise, e.g. write macros and
troubleshoot user errors
Provide support when the software is
being used by beginners who need
advice, or additional information,
Documentation and circulation of
cookbooks on user problems
Help to drive and implement proper
Geophysics application project
management
Participate in the conduct of lunch and
learn to solve some user problems
Assist to optimize use of the
Interpretation applications by identifying
and resolving bugs as reported.
Identify risks, uncertainties through
workflow process to help the decision
making process
Delivering timely software update to
clients
Load, move and reformat seismic data
using a variety of seismic software
programs and in-house databases.
Carry out regular Geophysics application
and data backups for studies in transit or
for Archival.
Help users in Interpretation projects data
loading
Maintain geophysical databases, e.g.
archive, store, organize, update and
retrieve seismic data.
Carry out a range of other technical
functions to support Geologists and
Geophysicists.
QC of loaded seismic data with the
Geophysicists
Supervise activities of offsite Seismic data
storage services and data flow.
Guarantee Seismic data organization on
disk according to BCP rules
Qualification/Experience
Degree in Engineering/Science/
Geophysics
Minimum of 5 years experience in
Geophysics
Experience in Seismic data acquisition
and Geosciences Data Management
Good knowledge of UNIX and LINUX.
Knowledge of SISMAGE and GEOFRAME

Aptitude test for Total (upstream) is strictly SHL, but I can't say about the "Professional test" aspect of it.

Have wellsite geologists & other geoscientists been called? I know geophysicists & offshore logistics officers have their tests on 25th!

Hi, I heard d same thing abt d aptitude test. I heard professional test is the same with skills test, n it's theoritical (short structured theory) n yeah it is the technical aspect of the position we applied for

Please did anyone apply for the GIS Assistant? What should we expect? IS the SHL just maths or maths, english and spatial reasoning? Also, please can anyone who knows give some information about what to expect for the professional test? Especially if it can be GIS related?

Hello Guys, I've been invited for the structured interview - Reservoir Geophysics position, I really don't know what to expect. Can anyone please help. The interview is scheduled for 2nd Oct, I wrote the selection test on 25th August.

please for those that wrote the seismic processing geophysic skills test. what was it like? i.e type of questions, wasit undergraduate or postgraduate geophysics questions.

Hello doziej84, I wrote the test for reservoir geophysics, but that day, they combined both Upstream seismic Geophysics and Reservoir Geophysics together. It was basic geophysics questions (30 questions) mostly in gravity and seismic methods (processing), although, some where in magnetics, and electrical. We also wrote SHL test too (25 verbal, 20 Numerics).
Luckily for me, i passed the test. Funny because i could only answer 10 Numerics out of 20, and 12 in verbal out of 25. I also answered 28 out of 30 in the professional questions (did not want to guess, because they specified that there is negative marking).
