Like they say, once there is life there is hope.... I ve not lost hope of getting my own IV yet, but i av kinda decided to move on......

The Invitation process is still on and I think it will run through the week.Time will ease this tension and anxiety.

I strongly believe some IVs are still on the way of which I know I am one of them. So there's still hope.

God is good and His grace is abundant. The problem i have with myself and even most of my friends (if not all the peeps around), is that when they are in need of favor (like now, boix dey find better job), we go dey promise God say we no go mess up if and if only He go answer us, but immediately he does it for us, we dont keep to the promise. My own prayer is that even as i hustle to get a good job and career, I pray that His ultimate will for my life be accomplished.
Enough of my preaching boix, lets keep d fingers crossed until shell finally employs her new graduate trainee by year end.

The last Sitp(2009) notified all candidates of their result status (pass or fail) b4 they even started inviting successful candidates 4d SRD so it kind of surprises me that no person has received a 'fail'email and yet so many hav bin invited 4 SRD
My advice to those who r yet to receive any email watsoeva is to remain CALM and POSITIVE 4 u wil b CALLED
Meanwhile has any GEOLOGIST who wrote his/her test in Lagos on 11 May been called cos i hav d impressiòn dat its only Engineers dat hav so far bin called...Answers please

Hang in there guys..word on the street is invitations will still be going on well after some people have done their SRDs..a guy who works there now..said he got his after most people had done their SRDs..he was in sitp 2008...so it's not over till the fat lady sings !..and I don't think she's singing yet !

@Ufuoma- U are welcome. Please a recent information i got from one of the shell recruitment is that they are calling people in batches. Those who did very well during the SHL test, i think were called first. So the IV is still going ON, Please Keep up a GREAT POSITIVE SPIRIT. i agree with them because those who will be attending the SRD on any specific date will be between 6 to 8 candidate. So many more will be called. Wish U all the best.

In my opinion, I strongly believe that those who were invited for the SRD are indigenes of Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers with the exception of a few that made the cut-off mark.
This package was specifically designed for the above mentioned indigenes, it was not advertised and SMS was sent to them to upload their datas on the Shells website. And unlike the conventional SITP that is a classroom training for a year, this is on-the-job training. i.e when you pass the interview, it’s a direct employment into the system.
You don’t need to blame shell for this new trend as they are copying the likes of Chevron and Agip Eni.
However, in recruitment like this, indigenes cannot be given 100% of the slots, as some percentage would be considered for non-indigenes alike. So as many that are hoping, do not relent, keep praying and lets see what shell is actually up to.

Guy, you have stated a few untruths in your post. Firstly,I know a lot of indigenes who have not been called(myself included) and ALL of my friends who wrote this are non-indigenes and they've been called for the test. About 6 of them to be precise.Quote:

@ All, Normally, the technical presentation is usually ur project for fresh graduates or any other project u have been involved with, if you think you have experience.
It usually should have a topic, Aims and objectives, Body (which may be your abstract), Conclusion, but be brief and make ur self understandable.
If u designed something, u may be asked 'to market ur project to shell' as in be able to tell the importance of ur project and how it can be useful in the oi industry.
You do not need to be a superman, use very understandable terms, dont try to be who u are not and above all, be confident.

From what i remeber, the group discussion wasnt so difficult....
U will be divided into different groups (usually representing the community), ud be given a list of projects to choose from and also be awarded a certain amount of money. Ur group has to come up with proposals on how to allocate the money u have been given to the differnt projects u chose.
You have to be able to say why u chose a project, why you think shell would approve the project, ........
Something of that sort....
What is important is that u contribute to the decision making process and also try not to be the only one talking. You could keep tabs on the time or appoint a time keeper, thats a plus.....
Finally, ask God to grant you favor.. na him dey give job. Do your best and leave the rest for God.
@Qeremin, I also got a call to prepare a presentation fo the SRD. I heard the shell person speak on bringing along a CV and something else. Can you kindly let me know what other documents he asked you to come with. Thanks.
@Them chief, Umm......I dint get a call oh! ??? Shud I be worried? I have the invitation for the SRD on July 5th but no1 has called me. Is the presentation sumthin we are to prepare for (i.e make slides, print out etc) before hand or what?
