Hello Peeps! This's a very reliable info! SON is not going to call, mail or text anyone about his/her appointment letter, the reason been that they do not have the contacts of anyone. Pls if you're waiting for any call at all, QUIT wasting your time. Try get someone to help u check b'cos very soon they'll (SON) start replacing those that have not collected their letters. Cheers!
For those interested in the salary, you'd be expecting a salary range of N70K-N90K. Take care my people and God bless.

annum) . too bad the link isnt opening but this is jst the few grades I can take time to copy, the two several ranges are for like what we have in school, academic and non academic so in this case it might be admin and non admin staffs or soo.. going by that calculation listed above, our take home for our grade and level is around 132k. so I dnt know where pple are coming up with 70-90k range that they are pasting.
@MIB, N1,073,217 - N1,589,500 translates to N89434.75 - N132458.33........., we might be anywhere in between, or is step 2 the highest level on CONRAISS 7 ????
@MIB, ok I get what u said now about admin and non admin, which one is for admin and which is for non admin???
If you cake a closer look at the post for the salary ranges you will see that my prediction is close to the the answer. 7/1 is 89k then 7/2 is 94k assumed. Now calculate tax, and pension and other deduction the you will be come to 80kashmir you take home.

@ Tunwunmi wia did u see the salary range for 7/1? I dnt think 7/1 exist in salary scale. Moreover, are u taking d upper limit or d lower limit of d salary range. Allowances varies in different agencies. However is d salary range inclusive of allowances?
After deduction of tax, pension and alll, the take home is 132k, @ harkinwhale, yeah there is step 1 but ours is step 2, the two salary ranges is for conraiss staffs dependent on ur parastatal but for regulatory agencies like SON that generate funds for the govt, our take home is 132k.
@ MIB, u sound so certain of your source of information,pls does any1 has a relation or friend working in SON, cos dats whr we will knw d exact amount we r taking home
@ fekky, do u think anybody comes out to say their salary u want salaries and wages comission to axe their salary, nobody knows the tru salary of reputable govt parastatal cos the eat fat and they risk there allowance and salary been cut if the salaries and wages comission finds out.. well hve said enough again, jst like hw pple were doubting and raising eye brow, when I said I hve been called up for my employment letter, yah all can choose to stick to ur marketing jobs in banks, customer care in telecom industry and labourers in the so call oil and gas firm, as for me, am no persuading anybody again to accept SON job.
having work with the organization, let me help clear u guys on ur take home. as a fresh graduate employed on conraiss 7 step 2, ur salary is about 95k and take home is about 73k. the tax is much and also remember u contribute for ur pension.

in ur salary, all allowances from FG are included. the problem is that the organization does not have internal allowances like u have in nafdac, and some other parastatals. also nafdac is under ministry of health and Dora Akunyili fought for good package in nafdac which is lacking in SON. Please do not be deceived, that is the package I have told u. the poor package was one of the reasons I left the organization. feel free to make ur choice.

@educhukie, No need to attack MIB in the first place, we are only sharing information here, u can only believe the one you want to. some ppl were skeptical including me when he first alerted this house of the appointment letters. On the salary issue, I said I'm believing civilguru but not quite disputing MIB's assertion. Even if he's wrong on salary issue, its bcuz of him that most people myself inclusive have their appointment letters at hand. Lets do our homework well and stop the insults and name calling please.
Pls, we don't need to insult anybody on this forum lets try to be responsible with our comments. we are all here for the same goal. My problem with SON is, why LEVEL 7 STEP 2 for graduate instead of 8 step 2. Which criteria are they using.
To answer ur question, SON does not use grade level but CONRAISS which is a consolidated salary scale for research and allied institutes. the conraiss is calculated a level down grade level. that means conraiss 7 is equal to grade level 8 and so on. also, the package of conraiss is a little greater than grade level becos it's a consolidated salary package.Quote:
