Has anyone been employed as a Field Engineer or Project engineer

pls whats' d difference if any, btw the assesment pattern for field Engineers , maintenance engineers, field specialist, and maintenance technicians.

i ask this question bcos i happen to know someone (HND holder) who just got in to slb and was advising me to apply for maint tech saying it would be the easier option (that wz what he went in for, though i thought he was qualified for the other higher positions). now he is out of the country and can't reach him om phone to ask further questions.

Does any one have an idea how the assesment pattern is for field engineers and maint engrs and what makes it difficult to scale thru as compared to the maint tech category.

@iluobe. There are no fixed assesment pattern for any. The recruiter looks for key feature in your presentation, group work and final interview. They fix you where u r best fitted. HNDs are taken for maintainance tech and field specialist while B.Eng are taken for Field engrs and maintainance engr. While maintainance remain at base all fields shuffle within base and field.

@DEXTERG AND GODSON, CONGRATS on your appointment with SLB. Na When we go celebrate? Plz i need your advice cos I am still surprised not to have been called by SLB. I have applied on their site twice now since 2009. I currently have two applications on their site for Petrotechnical engineer and Field engineering positions. I am thinking of gatecrashing this time o. I got a 2.1 Petrol Eng by God's grace. Plz i need your advice
