I wonder when Shell will include we Commercial applicants among the train! But I suspect Shell wants to settle those that applied for technical roles first. Nonetheless, God is still with us.
@ikenna58...som1 dat I kno in commercial like u and I got a regret msg 2day. He applied and finished all d assessmnts first wk in May eva b4 I applied on d 25th (d removal date). May b dat's why his result came out earlier. In sum, it's like dose of us in commercial are also being considered dis year. Cant wait to get dr email! All d best!
a friend also in commercial got the interview mail yest...its pretty simple i fink..they have lots and lots of cvs to check out so we jus need to be patient and see how it goes as long as our status is still 'application under review', we'll jus wait and hope!!!

@oma1 let's just hope for the best! For the fact that we didn't get a regret mail immediately after the second test means all things will most definately work out for the best! Am already looking forward to receiving my appointment letter from Shell... Aint nothing standing on my way! Big ups guys

There's no theory here or der..ur mail after d 2nd test said 'we will nw give careful consideration to ur application'...dat jus simply means u have scaled thru both online assessment tests and nw its time to check out ur CV, past achievements, ur documents we uploaded and see wher we wud invite u for interview or not..its as simple as that..if they feel from ur cv dat u aint good enuff for them, whether u passed both tests, they won't invite u for the interview...its that simple... So relax and hope that u are good enuff for em.. All the best!!!
Is your test score not part of 'your application'?
@buchaisky: Most definitely the numerical and decision part already had a preset range or limit the wanted...and once u finished ur test and ur responses matched it, then u automatically get the "We are pleased to inform you that you have completed the online assessment." mail. and from there, they go thru ur main application next. they cant have only lookd at the decision making, and now jus be settin cutoffs for numerical like u assumed okay!?!?
Bro there is no point arguin over this. we no dey shell hr department neither do we work for cubiks. Lets just keep hope alive.
#ifItHelps......a friend of mine got screwed up by network just immediately she started d numerical. By d time she got a stable network she logged in again to continue only to b told to submit dat her time had expired...in essence she didn't even do 1 of d numerical but was still sent a congratulatory message dat she had completed d 2nd assessment....her application will be reviewed bla bla....till now her status still reads under review......just saying der is no point tryin 2 analize wats goin on....only d recruiting team knows....if u made it u'll surely be called
Thats exactly what im trying to say. The success mail she got was pertaining to the decision making test...not the numericals. The mails flying around now i believe are pertaining to the numericals. **still thinking out loud**
@styq I refuse to believe what you said! Its not possible, and I repeat, there is no way a person would not have attempted the nimerical test and not rejected immediately! The success mail after the second test covers both the decision making and numerical... You can quote me anywhere. The fact that a person wasn't rejected after the second test means he/she scaled through both tests; and now the test score, the position applied to, the documents uploaded, cv and other information provided will be taken and weighed against Shell CAR assessment! The outcome will now determine whether a person will be called for an interview or not! Anyone that gets a reject mail now means his application plus test score doesn't match up to the C.A.R assessment! Shalom

Lets face it!.................If ur status has not changed to pending interview at this time, u have to move on,.............it is very likely you will get a regret mail or ur status will change later to "application unsuccessful". No Mathematics about it. I did my best got a success mail after the 2nd Assessment, status had been Application under review for a long time until this morning when it changed to Application unsuccessful. Am not trying to drag ppl alongside my status change but to keep all abreast of the reality on ground. Except Baba God come change am now to "pending Interview", my broda my sister,....pls move on if ur status has not changed up till this time bcos dats d reality. AM movin on ppl....cheers!

Lets do a quick calculation. Assuming some1 registered with shell on 25th MAY and u know ur always given a wk to complete each assesment making 2wk. 2wks from 25th is 7/8june depending on how u view it. Now my brother do i need to elaborate more? Ur claims r very very wrong . Pls try to be factual.

Pls, the fact that you already got a regret mail after a long time or you already lost hope of receiving an interview invite does NOT apply to every other person out there. Speak for yourself. I do not see anything wrong in hoping till the final outcome.

Come on, friends..Please lets not get unfriendly. We are all correct from our standpoints. What we all actually want are interview invitations and being correct in our understanding of Shell's HR policies may not necessarily put the emails in our boxes. Lets be together in faith and hope for one another....The best proof of our confidence might be beginning our preparation for the interviews and providing each other with valuable info..Remember, we are friends...Have a great day, people. :)
No mail yet, status changed to "Application Unsuccessful". Got a mail of successful completion after the 2nd test. I did well in the numerical, very sure of that. SHELL!!!
Had to come in here. I v been reading passively and quite hilariously at the arguments of some members here. Folks like it or not, the message you got after the numericals was just an automated message, and not an indication of success. Now for those that got a straight "unsuccessful" mail, two things:
1) you didn't cross the limit score (most times a 50% or below 50% automatic response message is set as those candidates are not the calibres they want). So most times you get the reply immediately. it is automated. If you need a litmus test, ask people that are familiar with Diageo's pattern or the Heineken nternational graduate trainee programme.
2) you didn't answer the personality and technical questionairres in their own prescribed way. For some that answered very woefully, they didn't even get to be nominated for the numericals at all. It is automated folks. Now some managed to pass the set limit basis and were invited to take the second test - this doesn't mean you performed so wonderfully. The primary focus is to ensure that out of every applicant, the best candidates are selected with respect to the entire applicants whilst still promptly weeding out mediocre scores from the start.
Having said all that, another unsaid reason, could be AGE or other unclear reasons. Like it or not peeps, shell like many other international companies would outwardly say they are equal opportunity employers, but they could still not shortlist a candidate based on age or based on other answers you filled while filling the application. However they would allow you finish the application process and sometimes even take the tests.
The guy that mentioned the thing about moving ahead is not entirely incorrect. He has a valid point. Many a times, if your status is still on 'application under review' a long while after lots of people have been sent mails for interviews, it means your chances are slimmer. But I wouldn't entirely be conclusive for now. Maybe till the later part of the month.
A kind advise though peeps, try not to focus your entire minds on shell. They have a systemic way of dashing hopes and shattering aspirations. You are never sure about shell even after medicals. Until you are handed your employment letter. So do other things while furthering the application as it progresses. Prepare especially well for the main SRD too. And pray that the hands that be don't take your destiny from you too.
