Hey house, i got unfortunate mail now from shell that my application is not successful at this stage. Who else got same mail and do you guys think i should reapply?

Don't know if I am about to correct people or just make known my own ineptitude.

Well, this is for people complaining about getting "EMPLOYMENT" rather than "LOCAL OPPORTUNITY."
When you start your application a page comes up that asks where you reside at the moment, if at this point you select any country besides Nigeria then you get "EMPLOYMENT" and not "LOCAL OPPORTUNITY. So irrespective of where you live at the moment just go ahead and select Nigeria, and don't worry you will be presented with a better opportunity to state your current address in full later on in the application.

Anybody's got a contrary point of view?

'Cause I already made 199 applications to every vacancy on the SHELL website before I finally found "LOCAL OPPORTUNITY", (just kidding)

I got the mail too. Did you write the test last year. Will look 4 a way out.

I don't think ure correct, cos wen i applied, i chose Nigeria as my present place of stay. It first read LOCAL OPPORTUNITIES, but later changed to EMPLOYMENT, i had the same experience last year.

@femomenal... I so much disagree with u . I followed the normal process as stated and the status wen I submitted was "LOCAL OPPORTUNITY" only for it to change yesterday to "EMPLOYMENT". I'm a commercial applicant though, may b d status is for commercial applicant . Any one with a fact should shed more light.

No, the 'employment' status is not for commercial applicants.

As far as I am concerned, no one here knows what it means.

My own application started showing the 'Employment' thing as soon as i submitted my application.

stage 1 of d recruitment is d Aptitude Test. The best are then invited for the SRD(Shell Recruitment Day), which is a form of Interview/Oral Presentation. Shell then selects candidates from the SRD for Medicals,and then the subsequent resumption of Work. The first year of employment involves on-the-job training, and this is what is called SITP(SHELL INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM)

I received my confirmation email about 20hours after d submission of my application. I'll advise you to wait a little bit, don't fret. All is well.

True talk. One more addition, SITP has been scraped so if you are successful...na work straight. You would be confirmed after one year of work. It's a better regime than when SITP was bcos then it would take two years before you are confirmed. With the smart guys we have here, we don't need SITP.

have register 4 over a two years now but i did not complete my registration then.am trying to do that now and am having difficulties on it.it will bring out the application for the local but 4 me to edit my profile in order to submit it is a problem.

Save yourself the hassle, create a fresh Shell portal account using a different email address, and apply.

is there a way to withdraw an application? I mistakenly applied for internship! Any help here peeps?

Just recivd a mail from shell. It shows that HND holder does not meet their selection criteria!cos they requested for a minimum of 2:1 degree.

What I know abt the shell portal is thatI have not come across a place to withdraw application, so by all means create a new profile with another email and re-apply
