Jeez! I'm overwhelmed with joy.
I pray other forum members yet 2 get shell offer have a reason to rejoice soon. It is well.
Congrats once again bro!
You know what makes Naijahotjobs a great place is the inputs and advice from fellow members.
The way you can 'payback' your gratitude is to always make out time to still come online and make your own contributions on subsequent job vacancy posts, sharing your knowledge, experience, insight and techniques with other job seekers.
A lot of the people who are regular commenters/contributers on this thread/site already have well-paid and reletively-juicy jobs at hand, but they still come online and make their own contributions.
Kindly try and follow suit too.
This goes out to you, and other naijahotjobbers who just secured their dream-jobs this year.
Congrats once again to you all.
Cheers!

Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
Pls has anyone received his/her transport reimbursement. Hope we don't have to wait for 15months+ to know our fate.I think there shd be some kind of recruitment ethics, which prevents pple from waiting endlessly. Its really a form of mental torture. CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO RESUMED YDAY, BE HUMBLE AND U WILL SUCCEED TREMENDOUSLY.

Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
Habib, thanks for the info...I tink the shell recruitment team will be having some fun with the current haphazard recruitment pattern...Simple logic denotes that 2011 waiting list shld be called b4 2012, moreso ppl with medicals shld be called b4 ppl without mdeicals but I guess that this logic isnt simple enof...But I must say that exxon, total are also culprits to this crazy unethical practice, calling people for medicals, delaying them for 15months..only to bounce them.. The most annoying tin shell even did was to announce dec3 resumption to guys 1-2weeks b4, who in the right senses does that? Every company needs at least 1month notice to inform management that u will be resigning... The explanation is simple..They expect guys 2b jobless, waiting for them... I'm optimistic we will all be called but my principle in life is..."if we arent called, life goes on...make the best use of current opportunities"... Current anxiety and panic will make dese recruitment people look like mini-gods who they arent!! To be honest, I really dont blame them...we have no serious regulatory bodies in Nigeria so graduates are treated as mere slaves and beggars... I will forget abt this exercise till February next year..Speak to u all in February!!

Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
@ Alra u are so on point. They know nigerians are desperate for job so dey can decide to do wat dey wanna do without proper pattern/organisation.
It is well tho'

Aira... Patience... When it is time it is time. Pls use gentle words because these are your 'would-be' employers and they do visit sites like this.

Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
@ Alra I understand ur beef.
After much delibrations I think shell is upping their game to total & mobil standards.
That is taking under 27, masters and extremely good people.
The people that passed SRD surpassed their expectation
They didnt anticipate this and already planned to take new intakes by 3rd Dec. thats why the confusion.
as space opens up, people will be called
-
Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
@Gista: they (Shell) are definitely up to something and am really tempted to agree with Alra in the sense of them "...having some fun with the current haphazard recruitment pattern". This is definitely not the way things are supposed to be done. I am aware that there are a good number of people (especially those of lagos SRD) who are yet to get any form of feedback from them. Whether it's "success" or "reject" mail, they at least deserve to know their fate.
-
@Gista I sort of disagree with you, I know pple who don't have masters that where called up by shell, + older dan 27...&+ wht bout those who hadn't done medicals bt where given offers..the truth is only they themselves know what they have done..

it really doesn't matter if they do visit sites like these, the fact is they don't care about the candidates until you become a staff. Everyone should be treated fairly and ethically. You cant keep people waiting endlessly for months only to reject them!
I call wrong where i see one and this is certainly very bad Rep for these guys. Take the same companies, but outside Nigeria and you'll see why it hurts to be treated this way.
-
Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
Congrats once again to our friends who resumed this week. You all are testimony that great things happen to those who believe. The rest of us, should we start calling shell to ask questions or we can just wait for their directives.
-
Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
Gista: While all you posited is possible, but I think Shell and their recruiters should have used these criteria in the invitation for SRD, except they pre-empted performance and trust me, we don shock them.
But for me, I know the game is still on, na SNEPCO I dey go. Lol
I expect all the new guys to be having a wonderful time @ work.

Calm down Baba. This years recruitment is really difference. if Shell hasn't rejected (regretted) someone by now then surely they have something from that person. No rushing abeg - everything in Nigeria is upside down and there is nothing anybody can do about that. If we are complaining , atleast we should complain about something we know we can change.

Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
have dey sent anyone rejection mail?

Re: Shell Recruitment 2012

Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
God works in ways we cannot fully comprehend. Man sees the obvious and draws conclusions, but God's thoughts are higher than man's thoughts. Just thought to share this...have a blessed Sunday y'all, and remember God has greater things in store for us.

Someone who has resumed doesn't need re-imbursement nw. At-least the re-imbursement can be paid with his december salary. mehn its not funny oo.
-
The worry should be how to get an offer (if you havnt gotten one) and not getting a transportation fair refund of N5K or maximum 20K (for those that came by air). #DreamBig.
-
Wow...2 years now. SHELL!!! Ok lemme see how next year goes.
If they don't take me next year eh, I would go into politics and fraustrate them out of nigeria.

Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
But I have not even got an invitation for medicals yet, despite jogging and keeping myself fit like I was going to the Olympics. So if you are thinking the recruitment process is over, think again, cos I have not gotten my medicals invite yet. But when the time is right, that lazy typist will type my letter, until then I still pin...make the edges smooth wella.
On other matters sha, I feel the pain of peeps who were really thinking of starting work before Christmas. It is really a shame the way recruiters treat candidates in Naija sha. Reimbursement in 3 weeks, no way. Letter of congratulations or regret, no way. If you call to make enquiry they act like you are a leper interrupting their sacred sleep with your boring problem. You get an idea how people are treated in these companies from the way the recruitment process is handled and if you ask me in private if this is my idea of where to work I will tell you NO...but then boys need job sha and they can afford to do anyhow.
Fellas keep the embers of hope burning. As for me I know they will invite me when I am ready to work...if I am still available.

Guy I don laugh tire forget my sorrows. Hehe, asking for a regret mail. Na your right bros. If na abroad now self e don reach for me to sue Shell for that 3 weeks reimbursement...na them put am for my invite letter, I no force them. What if I been borrow money take transport promise to pay back in 3 weeks, na so my life for bend? My guy did an interview with British Gas and was told a week later was Asessment Day. 4 days later he got a regret mail, he was not successful, simple. Here person go wait one year to apply, 5 months take read GMAT and co, 5 months for SRD invite. 3 years to receive regret letter. I bow sha. Shell UK no fit behave like this, once Naija peeps don enter matter e must different.
