I want to believe the silence is cos folks r praying and keeping their fingers crossed. Well I believe SRD is ending 2morrow. And in the words of J.I," we will start giving feedback when SRD ends". I hope this week holds a blessing for all nhjobbers.
@makeway2029 & co: hope u have gotten ur medical invites.I just believe no one has the right to tell others that their race is over until they get a regret mail. Some folks waited 15months for their invite, so thread with caution.

Pal don't pick on me. I merely relayed what I was told by same J.I., I invented nothing, is it a sin to say what I heard now? Besides if you read my comments you would see where I wrote something like "they are unpredictable". That same J.I. is saying something else now merely proves that point. I have not gotten my medical invite and I am not in a hurry to get it. You don't go after what is coming to you. Again, that is my idea of faith. If I intend to "thread with caution" I would never have ventured out of my mother's womb. Good luck to you and all other hopefuls. Calling shell recruiters will not change you interview performance or make them adjust their schedule of events. For those waiting for medicals, the logical thing to do is to first of all wait for a feedback on your SRD performance and not to call shell recruiters.
Actually i know it wont affect performance, but we can have some thing to hold on to.
@EUCB feedback on SRD performance might just be the 'special question'
You know we treat recruiters in our country like they are gods, people we should be afraid of and all that, but that should not be so. It is your right to get feedback on an interview, ideally you should be told when to expect one and if you don't get one, you can demand it; it is the normal thing to do. You can wait to get a feedback (don't know how shell does theirs), if you run out of patience you can call (it is your credit) and whoever can pick (if they are in the mood) and give you a response (if they know the answer or feel like it). In the end I don't see how the call improves your chances...or hurts them and if you get a cogent reply, maybe you can find closure and know what you are waiting for...or not waiting for. So if your gut moves you, by all means call...no call my number sha. peace.Quote:

1. I noticed they have cald lots of peeps for medicals, does it mean dey are recruitn alot or dey dont plan on takn all dey invited.
2. Dose on waitn list are cald along side with us, does it mean that we wld be on waitn list.

@ Spatial, it is all speculations! Yes so many peeps have been invited for medicals. I heard that Shell changed their medical invite method this year by inviting everybody that passed SRD. So, as openings are declared, they will give offer to those candidates that have done medicals. Some good number of hopefuls will resume in December or January next year, others will resume later in 2013.Quote:

LoL, some folks are beginning to sound like SPDC is the only place one can make a great career(false)...I'v been out Nigeria and I din't observe this obsession with getting employed in the Oil and Gas sector. Well, I understand Nigeria is not industrialized enough to engage thounsands of "graduates" produced by the tetiary institutions annually. Goodluck everyone!
Okay let's set a few things straight. There's this erroneous impression on this forum that shell has called 'too' many people for medicals. Don't know its origins but its untrue. A batch for meds is abt 6 peeps on the avg, and they've been no more than 2 batches every week (3wks in oct in 2 venues). And to add to this, commercial/finance folks r also inclusive. So its far from being the jamboree that we think it is. Waiting list peeps aint no more than 15 called so far either.
The expansion towards deepwater developments has vastly increased the staffing capacity of all the IOCs during this financial year (Exxon, Chev and Shell) added with the new and properly structured regulatory environment guaranteed by the pib. So this is far from unexpected. Hearty congrats to all those about to begin a rewarding career in a few weeks from now. God bless you all.
