Just got SRD invite from Shell. Anyone got the same:


Dear Candidate,

We refer to your application for Shell Technical Graduate Position and wish to invite youto our Shell Recruitment Day (SRD) as follows:

This is a whole day exercise and we advise that you arrive the night before the event if your location is outside Lagos. You will be responsible for your travel arrangements for which you will be reimbursed at our own rates. We do not reimburse the cost of International travel. You should expect to receive the reimbursement up to three weeks after the date of the SRD. Kindly fill the attached reimbursement form and send back to the email address [email protected] before the SRD date.


You are required to bring along with you originals and photocopies of the under listed..

it's 8th of october. I honestly don't know how to handle this since I'm not in the country at the moment! :(

@sauer....i might be in same shoes as yours if i eventually get an invite as am also currently not in the country. But here is my advice to you....I was once in this same situation when Shell called me for the SRD in 2009. I wrote the test in 2008 and was called in 2009 but was already away from the country to start my masters and couldn't make it back to attend the interview. I tried rescheduling but once I sent an e-mail requesting for a reschedule, I stopped receiving any correspondences from them. Here I am today, in the same situation probably, waiting to receive an SRD invite. But trust me, this time around, I will give wateva it takes to attend the interview in naija cos to get a job these days is not easy o. Pls dnt let go of this opportunity. My little cents to you.

this shell sef. they no no wetin be sabat takless of keeping it holy. regret mail stills flying with their legs, wings and even hands but their SRD IV is flying with its legs only as shell may have adopted ration 1:100 wrt the iv and regret mails. i don't even understand this shell of a ppl. may be they derived joy to have made ppl's holy day sour as dis or what do they want to achieve by sending out regret mails on sunday, may GOD 4give them.

thanks aydj32. this was helpful. I'll see what arrangements I can make. I'm actually out of the country on a training and not masters. If it were masters, it'd have been easier. What excuse on earth can I give now in order to leave this training!?

just got my invite too........don't have nysc discharge yet and it won't be ready before d srd, what do I do house?????

My own is 29th Oct. I go don pass out from NYSC. Read Mech. Just got d invite now.

@MrSmith and @Trillionaire, what courses did you both study and where did you write your tests? Congrats to you guys, @ imlkt and @layenz, congrats and wish you guys all da best! Hope to get an invite soon too.... waiting is not easy o! I keep checking my mail like every minute!

I think so too...everyone invited person that i know of wrote in PH. Pls...anyone who wrote in Lag and got invite yet, let us know i beg.

Tnx @MrSmith. I Guess I can see a trend here....i would expect that people will attend SRD by discipline since there mite be different interview panels for the different disciplines. I've heard elect/elect, mechanical engrg and geology guys that have been invited so far.... Any other discipline pls? Has any petroleum engr been invited yet? None that I know of presently. Na wa o...ds one wey person dey correlate, interpolate and extrapolate nw. God pls help me o.....lol

Guy leave all these permutations wey u de do. I am petroleum, SRD oct 22, ph. It is not by discipline brother, no be skill test self. If u have not got a regret mail by now just be doing your thanksgiving cos your iv is being typed now. Relax.

Alhamdulillah... I just got my IV slated for 17th october. Elect/Elect apt test in Lagos. May Allah see us through.

Pls anyone knows about what will happen to those people who haven't got their nysc discharge letters yet? Am getting mine three days after my srd date, any ideas anyone?

Ziyaun: I think you shld call the contact on the invitation mail and also do a mail to them in that respect. See/hear what they av to say. Bt I doubt if there'll be an issue.

Shell is still sending regret e-mails oh! If you haven't received any msg frm them yet, still keep praying cos its nt over until it is. Someone just received a regret e-mail today.
