If it is the latter, the easiest way out will be to use a middle name and re-apply. Either way, I will suggest you give the applications a rest for now, and re-apply in a couple of days (if you still insist).
All the best, and Good Luck!
i already used my middle name as part of the application,or ure sayin i shud change my middle name to first name? ,what bout d surname? Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
It's good to see the good works that is already being done here with the vast pool of information being dispensed. Good job guys.
A little from what I know (I stand to be corrected though), the 'Employment' status is not specific for commercial guys. It's another form of employment with Shell. However, you stand a better chance entering through Local Opportunities as you only get to compete with your fellow Nigerian graduates.
As per the test, as people have stated, if you are focusing on GMAT, you are on your own. Get SHL practise (even though the ones on that day will be slightly tougher, but you would have invaluable experience). Time is a huge factor, especially for the numerical and spatial aspects. When i wrote the test last year, I could say I have never faced a test that scary in my short life. Finally, for the spatial section, you dont have to answer everything on each page. For each question, at least on out of the four sub-questions will be quite easy. You might be smart enough to tackle those first. it worked for me last year. By the way, you will never finish the spatial section, so don't flog yourself.
All the best as you prepare.

Valid point bro, but my opinion is that the HR team are in a better position obviously to clarify this status change from "Local Opportunity" to "Employment"..Because I'm sure that I applied for the local opportunity and I subsequently got an email notification to that effect... But my current position title still reads "Employment"...

Shell reimbursed everyone. The reimbursement differ based on distance to the location of test. The verbal reasoning is a TFC (TRUE, FALSE, CANNOT SAY) format. Just get your hands on questions and practise. Wish everyone the best.
-
Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
@dynamo, what type of questions should i expect in the verbal and quant? And how many test sections in all?

True talk. No matter how fast you are, the spatial can't be finished. The numerical aspect was just hell cos it involves 3 various graphs for each question. How I wish I could lay my hands on samples of such questions with multiple graphs, it would make my preparation worthwhile.

@xandro101, I am so sorry my memory has eluded me on that (so many other things have taken uppermost hand). But I think I still that the question were around 30-40 but cant remember exactly how many minutes that were allotted for each section.
Pls, any other member in the house who still has a vivid memory of this should please respond.

Re: Shell Recruitment 2012

@auguatinecu, the verbal was a True/False/Cannot say type. The numerical involves you tackling question by using informations presented graphically (charts, graphs and tables). Usually, you get 3 questions under each data. As per time, I'm sorry I have forgotten. Time went by extremely too fast!!!!

I already said it earlier that for the verbal, it's TFC format. There was no quant, I guess u are referring to numerical which I and some others had explained earlier. Last year, calculator was not allowed into the hall but each person was provided with one.
-
Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
@dynamo, thanks, but what about the verbal? Is it just comprehension or does it include word comparison (opposite or similar words) and essay writing? And is it just quant, verbal and spatial (3 sections)?
-
Re: Shell Recruitment 2012
Jst comprehension, quantitative n spatial
-
Re: Shell Recruitment 2012

last year, SHELL did not allow HND holders to sit for the test. If you possess, in addition to your HND, a bachelors and/or a masters degree; then you'd be allowed to write the test. You should apply though, and hope that they change their conditions this time around.
