@all, the pay bracket is correct.Usually starters are on 280k or thereabout and you know this vacs are for experienced.A friend of mine with Amok who currently earns 350k wants to join Saipem as Subsea Engr.The pay would definately b better.

thanks efficiency_247. Just that i read on this same forum that someone got offered 80k for a job in saipem, and i also heard that the max could be about 120k and this is not up to 60% of what i get currently.

Hmm, i wonder if this is true (the link above). it may be true cos d day we came for the test , i heard somethingsimilar that some guys that were taken some weeks back for a position i cant remember were paid less than 100k. Also, i noticed something d day we came for the test, the guys that administered the test to us were looking hungry and unkept and i was like, are these saipem staffs or those contracted to administer the test to us. to my surprise, i saw one of the guy's ID card clearly written SAIPEM. In my mind, i was like, hmmm, if these people are looking like this, i wonder wot the package will be like for us the freshers that might make it in to the saipem. well, i might be wrong sha...
80k for a multinational Company? Are u kidding me? Even banks pay far better!I thought they are into big time oil and gas contracting projects? 80k sounds like a joke to me.
Ur priority determines ur decision here..As for me what am more concerned about right now is a company that trains well..money aint my priority now..I just want to be the Engineer I have always dreamed off...so am waiting patiently for u saipem..
well its a noble one for core engineers but for one applying for a buyer like me, no way am gonna leave a 250k+ paying job for 80 what???
as per looks, they can be deceptive cos when i wrote nlng test, the guys there were not all that in terms of appearance...na bank a/c matter o!!!

@ All: I am perturbed at how everyone seems to be worrying about the pay. The level of pessimism is killing. Why not hope for the best and pray that you get a letter of employment first before you decide whether you want the job or not. To me, a coy will not bother to conduct test, pay T-fare to candidates and invite foreign nationals to conduct an interview for a job that is not worth it. Let’s be positive and trust God for a favorable outcome - As for me I am persuaded that this is my year of Good News.
