Job description/ Mission:

• To promote and sell aftermarket products effectively, meet customers expectations and company's business development objectives.
• To interact actively with all customers and become their consultant in compressed air and generators maintenance and service issues.
• To find and develop new potential customers.
• To set and maintain coherent and clear activity agenda.
• To promote the total aftermarket business through the development of the customer base.
• To undertake proposals, including the calculation of sales prices to achieve sales.
• To support sales with presentations and negotiations in order to achieve and exceed targets.
• To report, using sales tools and and databases, activities and information collected in the market (machine population, customers, competitors, actions in progress).
• To continuously improve technical knowledge.
• To plan for, advise and liaise with management in matters relating to business strategy and development for the region.
• To support marketing through the effective provision of sales data, including the timely recording of visit and action reports (including lost order reports) and analysis of sales performance against budget.
• To assist authorised distributors to market service products.
• To achieve goals as agreed with the Manager.
• To be responsible for customer liaison and ongoing relationship development.
• To keep the management regularly and fully informed about routine and "red flag" issues related to business in the region.
• To maintain close working relationship with the regional equipment sales representative to maximise customer relationship and business outcome whenever possible.

Experience requirements:
Experience on machinery and/or service sales would be an advantage



Knowledge:

• Sound computer knowledge is a must
• A good mechanical / engineering comprehension
• Current valid drivers license

Educational requirements:

• University degree in technical or commercial field (Marketing) or similar through experience.
• Mechanical or electrical engineering degree is preferred.

Personality requirements:

• Self-driven, result-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit.
• Competent and confident; ability to modify style in order to achieve results and maintain effectiveness.
• Reliable, tolerant, and determined.
• Willing to develop knowledge and expertise.

Guyz, I got a mail yesterday from Atlas Copco inviting me for an interview dis week friday. This invitation is a response to the application I submitted couple of days ago(september 2nd 2011 precisely) following the company's advert posted on the forum.

Did any other person receive similar mail?

Does anyone know about the company cos I'm yet to decide whether to honour d interview or not as it's gonna take place in Abuja(far from my present location)? Does the company pay well? I need dis info. 2 decide cos if I have 2 honour the interview, I'll be spending alot on transportation/accommodation. Also I'll be taking a little risk on securing my present job. Does it worth it?

Atlas Copco is a UTAS product, and a Subsidiary of Chellarams plc, here in Lagos.
I did Interview with them some couple of weeks ago in lagos and since then I was told that my name is still pending. But when I saw another advert same company in Abuja I applied and I was called for an interview on Friday this week being 23rd sept., 2011 in Abuja after doing one interview in lagos same Company. Should I still go to that of Abuja or waiting for lagos people to call me?
After I did the interview in lagos I was told that I can be posted to Abuja, Portharcourt or Lagos. Is going to be a Sale Engineering trainee in which you will be giving N40,000 for a period of six (6) months after which If ur overrrall performance worth it u will be confirmed FULL Staff.

Atlas Copco is a subsection of UTAS which is a subsidiary of Chellarams having their headquarter in Isolo FIVE STAR, I did an interview with them some couple of weeks ago in lagos and I was successful. I no even dey understand the whole thing again sef! An advert was placed in yesterday's(20-09-11) Guardian newspaper for this same position(Sales Engineer) by Chellarams. I think Chellerams is a dealer 2 the company(Atlas Copco) and what they do is to sell Atlas Copco products(just like a dealer) while the Abuja stuff is Atlas Copco itself. So from my thinking, Atlas Copco needs Sales Engineer to sell products to(usually in wholesales)/relate with dealers like Chellarams and the rest while Chellarams too need Sales Engineer to sell Atlas Copco products to end users/subdealers(personal opinion) or what do u think guyz?

Guy, the advert was placed by Chellarams and it was indicated that u would be required to sell Atlas Copco products as a Sales Engineer. Meanwhile I was invited by Atlas Copco itself for an interview last week friday for the position of a Sales Engineer following the application I submitted in response to the very advert on this thread but didn't go cos I wasn't sure of the company's package and wouldn't like to go as far as Abuja 4 an offer I would turn down at the end of the day.

Atlas copco do not have any other owned branch office in any part of d country except in ABUJa. they only have distributors like this 40k chellarams n others. Abuja is not a 40k town at allll.

If u guys contemplete so much on attending this first stage of the interview, then what will u guys do in attending d second and posibly a third stage, thus my candid advice is that u all attend all stages bcos nothing good comes easy. I WISH U ALL D BEST!

I Finally went to Abuja after seeking for reschedule and it was granted for Monday 26th sept. against friday 23rd sept. ATLAS COPCO was a nice place to be, judging by the company environs and make-up. It was purely oral interview but I was encouraged by felixbrown after series of conversations on phone. I discovered that UTAS which is subsidiary of Chellarams is a marketer of ATLAS COPCO products. If u are inverted , try to give it a try. Bye for now.......

@aaree,i was there too on monday and i just got back to Lagos.In my opinion, Atlas copco was worth the stress of traveling. I was told that i would know the outcome next week. I wish every invitee the very best.

Has anyone been called for the stage 2?

I hate this silence. Is like most of us called for this job interview are folks that pop into this site just to get info and not to contribute to matters arising.... If i write that i was called today, questions will start popping in.....
