Saipem has started shortlisting for interview. I got this text message from them:
With respect to the test written, you have been shortlisted for a technical interview for a trainee position in our Engineering department.
date 29/9/2010
time 9 am
Venue: Saipem office, 232A Adeola Odekun Street V/I Lagos beside sweet sensation.
fellow housemates if haven't got this, just keep praying to God because yours is on the way. cheers

@ekwo baba,where did you undertake your test(lagos or portharcourt)? wanted to know which of the centres has been called.Also,what is your discipline?Was it tru text mesg u got the invite?.please reply asap.The earlier we know our faith,the better. thanks
@ekwo baba, I dnt knw ur discipline, but if Elect... make sure u study the basics on power plant installation, general industrial elect. installation, cable sizes, transformers, motors. And the things we take for granted e.g Ohms Law, general electrical practice. I believe these will do. Once again, congratulations and good luck!!!

Wll u wl b inteviewed by seasoned French/Italian engineers and 1 or 2 blacks for HR. The screening is the same std. for HND/B.Sc Engineer, na who impress them go pick the job
First get to know of hand all d claims in ur Curriculum Vitae.
Then get down to read piping and piping instrumentation
- Valves and operational mode
- Centrifugal and other pumps
- Autocad proficiency might be tested
- Flow of fluids in pipes and underlying principles will be deeply probed
- memorize darcy eqn., weisbatch eqn, Osborne Reynold eqn and how to derive it from 1st priciple
- also, u might sit for another written test b4 the interview, so prepare well
- revise basic defrential equation
- dont bother so much abt ur dressing, u r an engineer not a banker
- avoid negotiating salary, jst accept d pravailing industry std and let them see zest and passion 4d job exuding from u

@ all, sorry that i have not replied all the while . just that i have to travel urgently from Benin to lagos on Tuesday for the interview on Wednesday.
I applied for Process Engineering and Chemical enginering is my discipline. i wrote my test in Lagos. I have done it and praying for God's favour. It was based on my discipline and practically based.

I have a friend that we wrote together in ph that was invited for today,30th interview section in lag. Am still very much expectant cos I heard from a realiable source that there would be interview in ph soon.Just keep praying to baba GOD cos he would do it for us.

i had my own CIVIL ENGINEERING test in PH. I havnt gotten any txt yet. Pls someone should try and inform the house when they start calling for interview in PH for civil engineers. thanks

Pls house what is happening to SAIPEM? have they forgotten abt the other options to be invited for interview.Any info abt the interview process,we are still waiting because for now it's only process Engineering i know have been interviewed or is there any other option.Please somebody with useful info should let the house know.

ekwo baba, i learnt the interview was conducted in Lagos on 28th,29th and 30th of September,Please can you tell the house the options that were interviewed because i am yet to see somebody in the house who had shared more light on this puzzle.
Could it be all other options (Electrical,mechanical,Civil etc...) are schedule for a future date or that they have been called.
Please i need your response in this area since you happen to be the only person talking about this issue

hi guys,there would be invitation for all those that are successful in the technical test shortly not later than this week.from what i heard,electrical would be next,followed by others but i think it`s all over for process guys except through God`s intervention cos i was told they are through with them.Goodluck to you all

IS IT PRACTICAL ORIENTED.PLS I NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE
@tundesalaam, I wrote my test (ELECTRICAL ENGR) in Port Harcourt and i'm still expecting my IV. If the test was technical, I think the interview shud contain some elements of technicality. Or dnt u tink so!? So I suggest u brush up all about power cable selection, power generation/transmission, transformers/motors and the principles behind their operation, also try and understand the diff. types of power (i.e TRUE, APPARENT and REACTIVE) and the units. Dnt forget power factor the effects and how to correct it. and lastly basic principles of electricity. Dis is my little contribution and i hope it helps. Congratulations and GOODLUCK!!!
