PTDF Owerri Centre: What do we do, guys?

To say we were stunned and embarrassed is an understatement unfit to describe how we felt when, after waiting for about 4 hours in FUTOwerri Centre, Imo, we were told that the test couldn't hold again and had to be rescheduled!

Many of us, including my humble self, traveled down to the east, from Lagos, just for this test. Considering the cost of transporting one's self there, cost of feeding, hotel bills paid (for two nights, as it applies to me), and TIME and human effort all expended for this course, I'm forced to ask; WHAT NEXT?
Will our monies be reimbursed, somehow, anyhow?
How possible and feasible will it be for them to organize a separate test for ONLY Owerri centre?
Will we be asked to re-journey back to Owerri for this same test? Or will it be organized based on individual choice of location, since it is a computer (internet) based test?
Considering that it was announced over the radio, on the 7pm network news of that same Saturday, that the test was successfully conducted nationwide, is it best we contact PTDF through the same email address they used in sending out the invitation, to inform them (just in case they don't know) of what happened in Owerri Centre?

We seem to be very few here that are affected by this, but we can unitedly make a strong case on this.

this is quite unfortunate. I suggest u write to inform PTDF and any updates on the matter should be made here for the information of other affected persons. it is well.

Thanks, Bibi for your response. I thought of writing them, but wanted to seek ideas from those affected too, so it would be a collective thing.

The Owerri experience was to say the least, disgusting!
We all had to stand in the sun for several hours only to be told that the test was to rescheduled. Resceduled to when? I do not know.
Moving forward I have decided to mail PTDF office in Abuja to make a formal complaint.

@Okoley: Good to know that someone in my shoes has come on board. I thought of mailing them too, but brother, U should know our system. A barrister friend of mine even said the govt is supposed to refund our travel and hotel expenses, but who would want to be victimized for stating the obvious? That was why I wanted us to join heads together and, as a group, tackle this issue intelligently.

i have just sent them mail on that regard too.lets continue to PUSH (Push Until Something Happens) we will all get there guys..

let us also remember to state that none took the test due to the system developing big brother 'cos even those inside

Achievers Plus, Good job there. But, I must ask, I hope U didn't send the mail using the same email address that they used in communicating with U, just to be on the safe side. Also, did U include in Ur mail, the option of we taking the test at locations close to our places of residence?
The Master, U said somtin this morning on another thread that the the test will be rescheduled for this week. How true is that?

@all affected,i'm very happy dat someone in my shoes is actually speaking wat i already've in mind. I was actually in d Afrihub Centre 4d exam dat faithful day. But u guys failed to consider d RISK we al took in getting 2d venue,most especially on d Benin-Ore road. Guys,we've to put forward a gud case here. hello house, i can't actually believe that i will still have the willigness to comment on PTDF again,i was so angry on saturday.I even had to take night bus from Owerri back to kaduna where i missed an NNPC test, our vehicle was even shot by robbers along Benin.But i believe that its all for Good.

pls house all those that are supposed to write in owerri centre should send a mail to ptdf ([email protected]) stating that the test didn't hold due to server failure.pls lets do that immediately.

Pls i still implore ur help over those of us including me that where sent to Owerri for the PTDF Test on the 26th of March,2011.We are deeply in need of the help of the staffs of the PTDF.we never imagine that such kind of situation may come up that fateful day.This is because our own situation is even the worst.I will tell you that almost 90% of us did not perticipate in the test.those that were inside the hall trying to do something where even ask to stop for the exam to be rescheduled due to server general failure the Afrihurb center.pls we want the managment of PTDF help do something about this.we are your children,and we have been preparing for this with all our energy and strength.i will be very much grateful if the PTDF will fix another date for the test, and if possible at our various location
because our addresses are still with PTDF.pls i will like to hear from you.thanks and God bless.

Hello Forumites, i jst want to share ur feelings. It was really unfortunate that u guys didnt write d test in the Owerri centre, i do pray & hop this wil turn out to be a blessin to all of u. It seems PTDF didnt prepare wel for this exam cos we too here in the North east centre in Gombe nearly had same problem startin d exam late around 1:30 pm & finishin som minutes after 12 md night & the funny thing is that after all the disappointments w.r.t the exam commencement, most of the courses listed for application were nt there in the test, so ppl had to go for a 2nd option, this is the 2nd yr PTDF is conducting an electronic test, i think there shud be an improvement on the test based on the challenges they faced last yr bt is lyk last yr's own was better.
With respect to the complain u intend to forward, am in supprt of it but do it kindly, smartly & wisely. Time is not on our side as u all know we r heading for the elections, i jst hop PTDF do somthin about it as quickly as possible & i wsh u ol the very best of luck.

Good people, I am praying that God will assit us in getting a test re-schedule. I sent an email to the cinfores peeps, but it was bounced back. I also tried posting a comment on the PTDF site, but I don't know what exactly happened there.
I hope the mails sent would be attended to.

WOW!! Guys i just received an SMS this evening by 08:48:25pm 4RM PTDF INVITING ME FOR THE aptitude test rescheduled as follows:
Venue:Afrihub Center,FUTO,Date:31-03-2011,Time:2:00pm. pls has any body gotten the same information. i wish u all the best...

I also got same txt, my time slot is 8:00 AM. Pls does anyone has idea what d nature of d test wil look like? Pls I eagerly await your responses.

Hi guys, PTDF decided to send an invite afterall, bt d snag is that they still fixed it for the same venue.
How many people will make it to this same venue again? May God help us. Meanwhile, I saw this from another thread, I hope it helps;

The test has 2 sections as usual, section 1 which is the general paper include questions lyk oldest university in nig,which of the followin nig universities was not established in 1962,world footballer of the year,fastest man on earth,fastest woman on earth,theory of relativity founder,theory of evolution founder,kindergarten founder,33 miners trapped in chile,the distance the earth moved as a result of the recent japan quake,area of equilateral triangle wit 10cm sides,headquaters of the un,nigeria's first olympic gold medalist, 1st african american to own a golf coast, who design the nig flag. these r d 1s i can remember. d section has 30 qs to b answered in 15mins.

Anybody dt has materials on Computing shld kindly make it available.
