PTDF's scholarship is one of the best scholarships you can ever think of. In as much as there's an element of nigerian factor in selection (which must always exist), I can vouch for 80% of the selection as merit-based. I'm a direct beneficiary of merit and so with 79.9% of my colleagues who presently are on the scheme.
Fellow nigerians, please, don't be mislead to believe that the selection process depends on who you know. Study hard, pray hard and believe hard and I can assure you of an outright success. It'll be highly competitive this year and thus, my advice for you to start preparing in earnest.
The exam will be online with prometric test centres chosen across the six geopolitical zone. Questions, if going to be taken last year format, will be in two parts.
Part1: General Paper. This covers current affairs (Nigeria and the world, but 80% nigeria), oil and gas issues as relate to nigerian and opec community, a bit of english (grammar), and general knowlegde questions.
Part2: Area of Specialty. You will be asked questions from your course of choice. Assume your choice is Applied Instrumentation and Control, so you must expect all the necessary questions as relate to this. Of course, there's need to go back to your notes and textbooks; maybe if you'd thrown them away, it's high time you started looking for them because, I tell you, they will be very useful once again.
Note: The questions apply negative markings. That means you don't have to be assumingly correct.
All questions are objective.
Very importantly, be mindful while filling the online form. You'll be asked to write an essay, i.e if the old procedure still holds, while filling the form, so just prepare your mind.
House, I hope you'll find this information helpful and timely. It'll be my joy that you all succeed.
God bless you and grant you all success in Jesus name. Amen.
