PTDF Induction 2010 for Batch B (18 - 20 August, 2010)

Hi Guyz,

Please forgive PTDF inefficiency and read the following:

In line with the above therefore, the under listed students, for whom we have received CAS Numbers, are hereby invited for the second batch of the Induction Programme scheduled for Wednesday, 18 – Friday, 20 August 2010 at the following address:

Chida International Hotel

Plot 224, Solomon Lar Way Utako District, Abuja.

You are required to arrive Chida Hotel at 10:00am Prompt on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, where accommodation has been reserved for two (2) Nights. Documentation will be done on your arrival in preparation for visa application that will take place by 6:00am the following morning (Thursday, 19 August 2010) at the British High Commission.


Possession of CAS Numbers will be the only condition for being accommodated by PTDF. This provision applies only to the 93 Students listed in the attachment.



NOTE: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL A SCHOLAR NOT INVITED BE ATTENDED TO OR PROVIDED WITH ACCOMMODATION



Please ensure that you come along with the following:

Photocopies of all credentials
*
Unconditional Admission Letters with CAS
*
Attestation Letter




A subsequent date will be announced for the third batch of students to come for the Induction Programme. However, if you have CAS Number for one of the Courses we advertised, and your name does not appear on the list above, please forward your CAS to [email protected]is e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it immediately.



IMPORTANT!!!

Please check if your course requires that you apply for Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) Certificate, ATAS is only required for certain courses. You need to check if you are affected and APPLY immediately. DO NOT come for the induction and visa processing in Abuja if you require ATAS Certificate and you are not in possession of one even if your name appears under the 93 listed above. Can somebody advice on what to do. I have trying to inform PTDF of confirmation of funding of my program as requested by the school. But PTDF refused to do just that. I have been Sending E-mails daily since last week tuesday concerning this but notting seemed to have been done cos the school contacted me today that they ve not heard from PTDF.
Pls what can i do at this critical point. I called a lady on monday who promised something will be done(Phone switched off now) moreso i also make use of all the 3 emails provided.

A lot of people have the same problem and ptdf keeps saying they would contact the schools but only God knows if they actually do. At a critical time like this, if it would be possible, I suggest u go to Abuja and talk to someone face to face. Alternatively, if u can afford it, why not pay the little deposit the school is asking for and be on the safe side?.. cos u would definitely recover ur money somehow.

Find ur way 2 abuja, if u av money 4 d CAS, use it n move into that PTDF office n know wots happenin.

I had the samp problem. After so many phone calls and emails which took weeks, they eventually contacted the school. Keep badgering them, their administration isn't exactly laudable I must add, but they will contact the school.

please do anyone knw wen the next batch will come out? and helpme get the list of the first batch? cos i dont evn knw if my name was in the first..

@anonye: you better move to Abuja first thing monday except if your resumption is October. Thats the advise i was given and gonna make good use of it in the next 48 hrs. All their nos. are switched off and even my friend went there yestarday, met a lady ,spoke with her and she promised to do something about i but up till now nothing has been done. only God Knows what they ve been doing- na just to send confirmation mail ooo, since 3 wks ago. HABA!!!!!

@PTDF Scholars, I've been following up discussion on issues relating to d new scholars on this forum. I can recalled vividly on one scholars complaining abt CAS and accommodation and I try to shipped in some advice but I was been rebuffed by one of u guys. I really feel the pains of fellow scholars when they are complaining abt issues I equally experienced while in naija. My candid advice once more, for those of you still having issues to resolve, kindly move down to Abj to settle ur case b4 it's too late. Don't ever believe email or calls wud do the magic for you. There's popular saying "Wat's worth having is worth dying for". Wariso or any other PTDF's officers won't help u. Your dedication nd commitment is wat really matters. Ready to sacrifice ur time, money nd all it required 4 ur future. A word is enough for the wise..............................Cheers

But this is not good of them, why should poeple suffer like dis, I dont evn knw where to start from if i have to got o abja on monday, i do not have a place 2stay in abj and i do not knw wat to tell my boss, am so confuse now.........

THEMY4LIFE, I want to believe you are an ex-scholar.
I want to know what happens after this induction. most of the schools r starting mid-sept. Whats the format like?
When are you getting your passport and any payment at all from PTDF. How was it during your set?

@ Ozone Republic kool down, some info are nt meant 4 public forums lik dis 4 ur own safety as a scholar. When it comes to Payment of allowances, I must commend PTDF...

U have just won a scholarship worth over six million naira and u are here contemplating whether to go to Abuja or not to secure ur price?

If u say u have nowhere to stay, what are the hotels for?... FYI, there are some very cheap hotels within abuja central district. As for ur boss, u have to choose between ur job and ur scholarship

Thanks lenski, but i want to be sure that going to abj now is the right choice am planing to go anyway!!!...lol.

but my worry is dat some parastata enforces the use of scratch cards and computers to get info from them but when it comes to them disbursing such info the style becomes unbelievably difficult, its a shame that we still travel long distances just to get an info that someone in official positions culd hav either uploaded for all to view or sent mails to appropriate quaters.....

@anonye the time from now is really short, all I advise you like others have, is to go to abuja as fast as possible to take care of your issue.Wariso was not around Nigeria all this while he just came back from UK with the originals of scholars. That I am certain about cos I was at the batch B induction.If you can meet Wariso I bet he will take care of your problem with no delay.

@ chowizi, What you said is very correct.Mr Wariso is a very hardworking guy.He is committed to seeing that every scholars' problem is taking care of.If you have ever been in his office you will believe that.

In my own opinion, those that have CAS problem should get the contact person's email ,then, go down to Abuja give and also explain to Wariso and co.That is their job, they will work on it.

Having said that, I want Chowizi and other scholars that were in batch B tell us how the induct went.My name was on the list but because I am yet to have ATAS certificate, I couldn't attend as it was warned

@kanshio> i owe everyone with ATAS problem an apology, i should have brought this to the house immediately the PTDF scholars list was published back in mid April, i erroneously thought everyone was in the know. The induction is basically visa processing and PTDF scholarship briefings. I will advice you to make 3copies of all your credentials and keep them plus your originals handy. Park your bags and get set because you might be travelling at very short notice, i had to travel 30mins after viewing the batch b list from Bonny to Abuja. God's speed and guidance to all those on the waiting list and to all those awaiting visa approvals, God's divine favour will cover your applications.

@ every1, I ws told the induction for batch C will be early this week. Tues or Wed. For those who have not gotten their CAS, better rush down to Abuja NOW! Wariso is back he'l listen 2u.
IMPORTANT!!! PTDF disappoints o! D fact that you got the scholarship is not a guarantee that you'l go o! U have 2 b keep pursuing ur school & Wariso.
My case: I accepted my offer since 4th June. Had 2get sponsor letter 2make it unconditional. Was in Abj every week. PTDF finally sent the letter on 13th August. And guess what my sch rejectd d letter! Had 2 beg my sch o! And now I have my CAS and unconditional offer.

How does it work? How can one access it.

@ rita_o, just go Google PTDF.check under scholarships.check oversea scholarship (OSS).know the requirements.if you are qualify, start reading your books now.Finally, keep checking their website and naija hot jobs on daily basis.Take this serious my sister, if you really do need the OSS.

We hope Wariso came back with not just the scholars original certificates, but also their admissions and CAS too
