PTDF CALLS FOR TEST

Hello All,
At Last the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Calls for Aptitude Test. To all those that Applied for the Scholarship, check your E-mail cos I have recieved the Mail inviting me for the Test which would hold on Saturday, 20th March 2010.

Reference to your application for PTDF scholarship award for the 2010/2011 academic session, we are pleased to inform you that you have been short listed for an aptitude test which is scheduled as indicated below.

Test Venue : eTC Test Center, University of Ilorin
Test Time : 08:00 am
Please come along with the following:
• A set of your credentials (WAEC,BSC, NYSC Certificate, etc)
• Local government Identification letter/Indigene certificate
• 3 Reference forms (downloaded from application website (http://ptdf.cinfores.com) and signed by former lecturers)
• Birth Certificate
• Proof of computer proficiency
• Writing Materials
• A Copy of this Invitation Letter.
• Any other document that will assist the examiners to quickly identify you

You are expected to arrive early at the test center as verification of credentials will take place before the test begins.

At last! My instincts don't deceive me. I posted on this forum recently that I don't see the test holding on 13th March, now it's been confirmed.
I've not received my Invite but I believe it's coming shortly.

Does anyone in the house know if all the ivs for PDTF OSS have been sent at once or would the invitation continue till tommorrow or possibly till the end of the week?Still hav'nt seen mine yet.

Have Faith and Patience. Its Possible the Mail is being sent in Batches. Cos some people got there invitation earlier than others, whereas I know some who have not gotten theirs yet.

Congrats to everyone who has been short listed for PTDF test and those who are still expecting emails from PTDF. It's a step ahead. I strongly believe that it'd be in batches. If u have not received ur invitation, just patiently be expectant-many candidates will be given chances to become PTDF scholars this year. Note that the number of PTDF scholars increases every year. Last year about 5000 candidates were short listed and for this year, is going to be about 11000.

What u need DO now is to prepare and begin to think how the test is going to look like. Unlike what it used to be, this edition is going to be on-line. Therefore, I can't give precisely how it'd look like. Just prepare urself with the past questions u have and practise with computer based aptitude questions. U might be asked to write a short essay choosing from a number of topics related to the courses u chose. There4, u need to learn how to type a bit faster cos time is a major constraint. For the technical part, it might be objectives just like Mobil test questions-it might require u to solve some questions.

Make sure u read the instructions very well......like last year questions, objectives (general) part: every wrong answer attracts one negative mark. Hence, read the instruction very well and answer those u r sure of. Relax. Don't be too anxious-"what will be will be". I almost missed it last year (I lost concentration at a point)-thanks be to God I made it. Just be chilled and composed. Paid attention to details-"the difference between something good and something great is attention to details". More importantly, commit ur way unto the Lord and He'll make ur plan come to past. Also, those that know their God shall be strong and do exploit.

I have been reading generally but i need to narrow my reading and preparation now that the test day is very close, the problem is i don't know what to expect that is why i am sincerely asking the good people of this forum to help a sister in need. Please i am a little confused. How many academic references 2 or 3.Cos the site contradicts itself

@showstopa: I believe it meant to be three academic references because on the form the all bear academic reference A, B, and C

But the site says at least 2 of the 3 must be academics and must be your former lecturers, so my guess is that two academic references would serve preferably the Reference forms A and B because those two deal specifically with your academic abilities

writing materials .... wat kind in particular? is it just the normal pen .pencils, math set stuf? calculators allowed?

anything regarded as writing material should do.
Please who could tell the kind of proof of computer proficiency they are requiring.

I also got my invitation. I can tell you how much happiness jst sprang out in my body.... but why did they scatter the test center. I am to write the exam at charms city PH... and i am living in Lagos.... Thank i have relations out there

nobody has said anything about transcript, are they not requesting for transcript this year? and ptdf is it going to get the admission for us or we getting the admission and they'll sponsor.

Hi Guys, I'm still a serving corper shon but i intend to apply for the scholarship this year though i know nothing about the PTDF, Please can someone just put me through the whole processes?

I read Mechanical Engineering, i will be through with my NYSC by Oct.
Do they set questions according to your discipline? i mean can one choose a different field? lets say,i want to study Information Technology, will they test me base on my Course of study or the intending course.... i read a post where someone was lamenting about Electrical engineering PTDF format...and i equally downloaded one PTDF format from this forum and it was just a general knowledge exam...

Is it a general knowledge exam?

Please someone should put me through... i wanna be like you guys...well informed e.t.c

Pls house, has anyone who put in for "Applied Instrumentation & Control" been invited for the test? cos all I can see that have been invited on this thread is either "Oil & Gas Engineering" or "Oil & Gas Law." Someone pls confirm.

@Oligarchy, for u 2 be qualified 2 apply: u must have completed NYSC (& have 2.1 if u don't have work experience). Apart from the section of General Knowledge questions, other sections of questions are set based on ur choice of course u intend to study @ masters level. They have a list of courses from which u must choose the one most relevant to u or ur choice. If u want to apply, u have to wait for the next application period which will be around November/December this year. I believe u should have completed NYSC by then. Also, don't be too far away from this forum to always be abreast of 1st-hand information immediately it drops.
