Description:
 Macmahon is now looking for an experienced Production Superintendent to join our operations in Nigeria. Within our International open cut mining business unit, we operate a limestone and cement extraction quarry for our local client with particular focus on providing Drill & Blast, Load & Haul, Processing & Materials Handling and Maintenance Support services.
Description:
Based in Calabar, Nigeria and reporting to the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, promoting and ensuring safe and efficient work practices;
  • Maximising productivity to ensure targets are achieved via sound management of operators and equipment on site;
  • Support your local counterpart in managing the day to day shift production operations by offering training, mentoring and coaching on Macmahon/Australian best practices;
  • Developing a positive and proactive work culture in your team.

To be successful in this role you must hold relevant qualifications for the role and have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar supervisory role in open cut mining. Additionally you should have:

  • Complete understanding of the operation of production equipment;
  • Sound knowledge of relevant sections of the Mines Act;
  • Skills transfer and team development in a cross cultural environment;
  • Experience in supervising a West African workforce would be an advantage.
