PRODUCTION MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Production Manager
Reports to: Managing Director Business Objective: To take responsibility for all manufacturing and production. The Company: Tranos designs, manufactures and installs complex mechanical, electrical and
process systems for heavy industrial and high technology clients

Core Working Relationships: Managing Director, Engineers, Managers, Production staff.
Accountabilities (Responsibilities)


  • Planning and organizing production.
  • Implement and control the production schedule
  • Manage factory staff and material resources to meet production targets
  • Assist in setting and managing the production budgets set for all projects.
  • Estimating, negotiating and agreeing on budgets and timelines with clients and managers.
  • Ensuring that quality control standards are in line with ISO 9001.
  • Overseeing and implementing the total production processes.
  • Assist the procurement department in selecting, ordering and procurement of materials.
  • Supervising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
  • Liaise with business development, clients and customers on production materials.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports.
  • Optimize production to ensure company resources generate competitive returns.


Requirements

· A good 1st or masters degree in Engineering from a reputable institution. (A degree in mechanical/Production engineering or Industrial technology will be an added advantage).


  • 7-9 years knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques.


· A good knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing methods and procedures
· Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
· Good decision Making ability.
· Proactive (ability to think and take initiative) and must have problem solving skills.
· Ability to work under pressure, work within budgets and meet deadlines.
· Must fit well into the company’s teamwork oriented culture.
· A good knowledge and experience in sheet metal manufacturing.
