Nigeria's zip code is 234.
Takia!
Note that 234 is d nigeria code, while 01 is d state code of lagos.
If u re not in lagos, i think 23401 may be wrong.
Mschew...I think sey na that Funke Akindele first movie she featured in ...Zip code is 234 and when adding state...U can eithe put 23401 lagos or 23484 port harcourt
234 for country. 01 for lagos.
I think 02 for Ibadan
Good folks,u guys re enlightened.More power to ur elbows,& more money in2 ur pockets.
No wonder some people say that many Nigerian graduates of today are unemployable. You have access to the internet so why don't you (original poster and 234posters) google zip codes to learn about it? I wonder why you would confidently think that Nigeria has a zip code. Zip code has nothing to do with telephone area code. All of you referring to "234" with confidence are just displaying avoidable ignorance. Check out the address of the locale (not country) in question and you'll see the zip code there, maybe a 5 or 6 letter and digit combination or digit only. NIPOST uses a 6 digit combination for zip/postal codes in Nigeria and as @ugwancy noted you can check the NIPOST website.
All it takes is patience to google/bing/yahoo the information you are looking for.
@great Eng,Nigeria's zip code is not 23401 but 234. That is Lagos zip code. Abuja is 23409
Guys do not give yourselves headache. This is the link
Welcome to Nigeria Postal Service - Postcode Lookup System.

PostCode !.
CLICK ON POSTAL FACILITY POSTCODE. From there Select State (e.g., Lagos), then choose Local Govt. Area (Eti-Osa). This will give you the post code (101003 for Eti-Osa).
Postal codes in Nigeria - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
According to Postal code - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, A postal code (known in various countries as a post code, postcode, or ZIP code) is a series of letters and/or digits appended to a postal address for the purpose of sorting mail.
The "234" u guys r referring to is the International Dialling Code and not a zip code. 01 is Dialling code for LAGOS, 09 for IBADAN, 09 for Abuja, etc
02 is Nigerian Dialling code for Ibadan (Slip of finger)
I feel really constrained to comment to the otherwise as supposed by all. At the risk of sounding so unencouraging, I say unequivocally that Nigeria does not operate the ZIP code. It was meant for the US/Canada and the UK. I got to learn this when I was being trained as a beaureu and Laisson officer to a company I used to work with. what most of you have said is not the zip code rather it is the international teledialling code. In the U.S some area greaftfalls, I suppose, 5340 as their zip code does not relate to US dialing code which is 1 (one) before the area code then the telephone number. So pls be informed and I also stand to be corrected. Cheers!! one love
Really unemployable. Its funny that graduates dont know the difference between telephone dailing codes and postal zip codes. For port harcourt, the zip code is 540010. Google nipost
I laff in latin. All u 234 posters, abeg where did u get the info that 234 is Nigeria's zip code.
234 is the INTERNATIONAL DIAL IN CODE to nigeria. Abegi stop spreading misinformation.

y the despute? zipcode naija is 234 basic!
Lol...very funny arguement. Some PEEPS no wan agree say 234 aint related to our Zip or postal code. Some of us have very correct info and links. Yeah our graduates need to be enlightened not insulted. The fact that you know this little piece of info does not make you a genius. You might not even know more than the next person in other fields. Even companies like our famous CHAMS messed up in this same issue. Just yesterday i was around Festac town and i saw an N.C.C SIM registration point, it was operated by CHAMS. While fillin the form, i correctly wrote 102002 (zip code for satellite town) in the space for ZIP CODE, the CHAMS operator saw it and told me it was wrong, that the correct one is 23401, i laughed and told him he was dead wrong, i told him i got the code from the post office and they can never be wrong, its thier field. I tried educating this young man, but he simply refused to accept it, he said he got the code from the office(CHAMS office). At this point i had to leave the young stubborn man, he's the one thats gonna type it in the system anyways, tryin to convince him is of no use, he wld definitely log in what he got in his mind. You see, even our glorious CHAMS (supposedly the biggest I.T solutions company in Nigeria) and their hundreds of staff are ignorant in this regard. I guess we all know the moral of the story.

Abeg this thing is really getting me confused.
What is the difference between ZIP code, Post code and dialing codes.
I think i know that dialing codes are used to make calls, Post codes are used to send mails, then what are zip codes and what are they used for. One guy said on this forum that Nigeria does not operate zip codes, and others said visit NIPOST website. I did visit NIPOST website, but all i could get are post codes and i do not know if they are same with zip codes.
I jst checkd wiki n saw d answer 2 all dis unnecessary arguement, is it dat google dnt work on ur browser?
There is no such thing as the postcode of Nigeria, you can only have the postcode of the street where you reside. Anyone who is interested in finding the postcode of his/her street you click on this link: Welcome to Nigeria Postal Service - Postcode Lookup System
It's quite unfortunate dat as matured youths dat we r,we find it difficult 2 correct pple without insulting dem.it's nt a crime even as a phd holder,u don't knw some lil tins.i read even albert einstein was nt dat gud in mathematics but had 2 call virtuosos in dat field 2 help him formulate some of his laws.i was surprisd a professor got confusd abou aw to spell ''forty'',spellin it as fourty.dat is y God will nt grant some ppls prayers cos of d kind of heart dey av.i am very sure dose ones dat even claim 2 b sooooo enlighntend are illetrates in some oda lil issues even in their own fields and am so sure u pple are nt geniuses.don't glorify yourself in d midst of d weaknesses of odas.God is d giver of wisdom.dere's always a wise and G??????????.??????D???? manner of approach to tins in life.our attitude is very important.may God bless and change d orientation of Nigerians.amen.one love.
This is all too funny, guys guys, guys..........PLEASE! next time u are asked a question and u want to reply just try and google it 1st, ie, check for it on google site, it has the answers to almost everytn, well, for the dictionary meaning of zip code :
"A trademark used for a system designed to expedite the sorting and delivery of mail by assigning a series of numbers to each delivery area in the United States."
so zip code was made by and for the united states of america but naija now has a similar thing in d form of postcode which they tried enforce some years ago when the late postmaster general Alh Argungu, was alive, well, after he left, d implementation suffered a setback but some pple still use it, the list can also be found on some postoffice walls today
I must admit I've bn 1 of those making dis mistake of misusing dialling code in place of postcode, but nw I knw. Thanks 2 u guys....I luv dis house!
