Hello guys. I received a call from a certain charles oweda/owedia purportedly of shell. He asked if i would be available for a one year training programme. I wasnt shortlisted for the shell recruitment day. Has anyone else recieved such a call. Anyone with useful info should please helpout. Thanks
@ephisi, I believe u r aware that there is already a thread discussing all aspects of Shell recruitment this year (look for SRD INVITATION), so no need for u to create a new thread.
Do take your question/situation there & u will surely get a lotta responses...

@ ctl alt del. This confirms my thoughts. I didnt think it had anything to do with SRD since the interviews had long been concluded.
Heres the mail i got and its from a legitimate shell email address.
You have been nominated by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board to be considered in the selection of candidates for a one (1) year Engineering Design Training at the Shell Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) office in Port Harcourt.
The program is expected to run from 9th August 2010 to 29th July 2011.
You are required to confirm your availability to participate in the programme if you are eventually selected, by return email to me latest Thursday 5th August 2010.
@poster- this FEED is definitely different... Maybe your thread TITLE doesn't really capture... This is a mail sent to you, so you got a call and a mail.... I do ve a question for you, did you take the Shell test as well.... I want to draw similarity or differences

@ufoma, i had no idea it was FEED after the phone call. I even tought it was a scam. I got the mail later. Thats why the thread title dosent capture the FEED. Hope u understand
it might be a legit stuff. is there anybody in the house who received such a mail or phone call?

I work with SPDC and i just checked but there is nobody by that name on SPDC employees list. Does the number started with 080702------ or 080703--------? If u want me to help u further to investigate, u can post the email address used for the mail.

@ephisi- i suggest you get in touch Shell's HR-.. I wouldn't support giving anybody the number of who called you... Although galot has offered to help you.... It's however more interesting cos you seem to be d only one to ve received such call/mail... My broda, tread a cautious line... It's well...
@galot thanks for the help. Its been concluded.info i got was that they needed 12people. Thats why many people are not aware and most likely those called are not naijahotjobbers.
Guys the programme is legit. it starts on Monday. pay is same with SITP for one year. Will let you k now more on monday when i see with my korokoro eyws

@ ephisi a big congrats. U re right abt the training cos b4 now pple working in that dept where contract staff cos i had a friend who worked in that dept (FEED). its really a good thing they are training pple for that dept. CONGRATS BRODA.
@ Ephisi: men I'm really happy for you oh!! I was actually waiting for you to confirm if it was legit or not before commenting. Considering the fact that you (like me) were not originally called for SRD, It gives a lot of hope to we that are awaiting SRD results...
I wonder if any one from SRD will also be drafted into this feed program as well. If so, at least we'll know there'll be a lot happier faces from the SRD bunch..
