Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Scholarship Scheme
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is a parastatal of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources established by Decree 25 of 1973 dedicated for the purpose of development, promotion and implementation of petroleum technology and manpower development through research and training of Nigerians as graduates, professionals, technicians and craftsmen in the fields of engineering, geology, geosciences, management, economics and relevant fields in the petroleum and solid minerals industry in Nigeria or abroad.
Our mission is to train Nigerians to qualify as graduates, professionals, technicians and craftsmen in the field of engineering, geology, science and management in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria or abroad. We have a vision to serve not only as a vessel for the development of indigenous manpower and technology transfer/acquisition in the petroleum industry but also to make Nigeria a human resource centre for the West African sub-region.
PTDF Undergratduate / Postgraduate Scholarship Programme 2012 / 2013
To ensure a steadfast implementation of this mandate, PTDF is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the MSc and PhD as well as Undergraduate Scholarships, under the 2012/2013 PTDF Scholarship Scheme. Scholarships will be awarded for studies in areas listed below, in the United Kingdom, France and upgraded Universities in Nigeria for the 2012/2013 session. However, the Undergraduate level will be awarded for studies in Nigeria only.
Application Forms can be accessed online using an ATM card or through purchase of a scratch card from designated major branches of First Bank of Nigeria Plc in all the States and FCT, upon payment of a NON-REFUNDABLE sum of N1,000 (One Thousand Naira Only). Instructions on how to access the form online is clearly stated on the backside of the cards.
PTDF however wishes to inform applicants that the Overseas Scholarship Scheme was instituted as a short term measure to address identified skills gaps, pending the outcome of the various capacity building efforts being made to enable our domestic universities effectively handle the onerous task of grooming qualitative professionals in the oil and gas related disciplines. With the numerous upgrade programmes executed by the Fund in some Federal Universities in Nigeria, emphasis has shifted to training Nigerians in-country. Consequently, only a limited number of candidates will be sponsored overseas and the rest in Nigerian Universities listed below.

make sure you type the site as ptdf.cinfores.com. Do not add "www.". Even if the browser adds it automatically, remove it. Then the error message would not show up. Cheers!

Re: Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Scholarship Scheme
@liquidt.........the PTDF as written last year was basically on current affairs and questions relating to the course of study you had decided to undertook in your master's study either local or overseas........
for example,if u had choosed MSc in industrial chemisttry probably at usman dan fodio university u'll be asked questins relating to chemistry...so no GMAT,SHL or whateva

Re: Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Scholarship Scheme
IF u want to apply for a local scholarship, you will have to contact the institution you want to apply for and request for their PIN which u will use to fill your online application...you will not be allowed to access the online application with the scratch card you bought. so,kindly contact your institution of choice for their PIN

Re: Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Scholarship Scheme
for intending candidates whon are applying for the PTDF, make sure your target study is related to your first degree....as in,u cant have a BEng in mechanical engineering and apply for MSc health, safety and environment as your letter of motivation will be use to adjudge whether you are really motivated in your course of study. your motivation is very important as most schools/organisation tend to give priority to candidates with true motivational statements. if you eventually scale through the shortlisting, d next stage is the electronic test proper which as at last year was based on CURRENT AFFAIRS and qusetions relating to yiour course of study which must be related to your first degree course.though, man-know-man syndrome still plays a vital role dont be deter from your set goals.....get prepared and be rest assured that you will make it... did i hear someone says overseas scholarship is in like sum of 11million naira
-
Re: Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Scholarship Scheme
please somebody reply me. wats d separation between the oversee and the local scholarship. are we to apply to only the foreign and the final placement depending on individual performance at the end of the test or we must choose between the local and foreign from the beginning of our application.
thanks

Re: Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Scholarship Scheme
Hello House, Please help I am having some challenge with the PTDF OSS scholarship application.
First I uploaded my documents in JPG format before noticing the advice to submit in PDF format. I wish now to delete the documents submitted earlier, how do I go about it. Can I get a page showing all documents I have uploaded so I could edit and delete all the JPG documents?
Secondly I could not find a page for candidates to include their primary education. Or is this information not important to them?
Thirdly, I don't think I fully comprehend what is meant by following statement: Please also give full details of an particular areas in which you will like to concentrate as part of your course of study research while on your programme overseas. This is included on the personal statement.
Your immediate response will be appreciated. Thanks house

Of course you can apply for both. There is no restriction for now. Also, corps members presently serving are advised not to apply as there chances of being selected are marginal--dont waist ur 1k unless you really have strong legs to ensure u r shortlisted for the test. For people applying for the second time, observe that a lot of the sponsored overseas courses have changed, and many deleted e.g 'Applied Instrumentation and Control' is now 'Control Systems' etc. having followed on them, I noticed they used Ogata for instrument'n and control, but dont know what they may come-up with this time. Can u apply for both? yes you can, confirmed.

Who told you corps members can't apply, of course the batch "A &B" can. They are to upload their call up in place of their discharge certificate. I applied last year while serving batch "B" and was shortlisted for the test. The service year is even the best time to prepare for such a test.
