Please does anyone know if there will be more than one interview? What are we to expect. Thanks
there will be only one interview. u will face a panel consisting of a number of top management staff. u have to read widely. cos u can be asked any question...technical or non technical..sometimes it could be personal. this is where u need God's grace. after the interview, successful candidates will be contacted. i know they need only 1000 people. again, the main problem is that there are a lot of interest groups, too many people who will need to be favoured, politicians sending people in with notes and so on. just do your best and keep your fingers crossed./
please does anyone know of anybody who wrote his/her tset in the benin centre that was called. this info will b greatly appreciated. thjanks
@Immaj. I wrote the test in Benin and have been called 4 interview.
Thank you for the information you gave on the interviews... Thank you so much and congratulations to those that are invited..
The interview process is ususally or largely free and fair. Please do not entertain any fear. You will know if you are successful or not immediately after the interview. There are signs to look out for.
How long will the invitation for interview last?
me, been through the process.
Some tip 1. Do not fear 2.straight to the point. 3.exp
When I had mine, I decided i wasn't going for the interview but was prevailed upon to go and when i get the job i can then decide what to do. I left Lagos for the interview on the day of the interview. I was calm and the last question they asked me, the interviewer said if I get it I have gotten the job. I got it. After I got my letter of appointment letter is a story for another day. just believe in God and be confident. dress properly(if you are wear a suit make sure you have white shirt and red tie preferably,DO NOT WEAR COAT WEAR SUIT you don't have to buy, borrow from your friend not one will know except if it's not your size. Dress properly)
hmmmmm! quite interesting
pls, WHY THE WHITE SHIRT AND RED TIE?..IS THAT nnpc colours?
also where you given any powerpoint presentaion case study to prepare for?..........as an experienced hand?
I applied as EH. I got the interview mail today for 28th July. It has case study to be prepared in not more than 8 slides to be presented at the interview. I observed somethings concerning my letter. It was signed with just the name, PHILIPS CONSULTING.
At the end it says ''For enquiries, please contact the Admin Centre by sending an email to [email protected]stating your “full name/Contract Candidate” in the subject field''
I did not apply as contract candidate. Is there anyone in the house with such ?
@Mount Pisgah..I dont think there is anything to worry about. I received similar mail today. If you look at the senders e-mail it is [email protected]. The only thing I am not sure about is the PowerPoint presentation. Are going to come with our personal computers or prepare the presentation in flash drives..
Simple colors. Joined as a GT. Don't know about any presentation. As for the colors I know for management staff interview the award marks and those colors get full marks. When I had mine, I didn't even wear a suit but that doesn't mean you shouldn't, I just wasn't interested in the job.
I didn't write the nnpc test but can see plenty preparing on NHJ left, right n centre...lol
I came across this on another forum and hope it helps someone prepare. All the best guys. God's favor has gone ahead of u IJN
Congrats to those that have received invitations. Over 4,000 candidates(can't remember the exact figure now) made it to the interview stage.
Firstly NNPC recruitment in based on quota system. Almost equal number of applicants will be taken from all the states and FCT. This implies that you are competing against people from your state. And this will in turn go down to LGA by LGA.So if you have a family member or a cousin in the race it means u are virtually fighting for one slot.
Under this system situations arises where a Candidate from State A with 50% score in the interview will be employed while a candidate from State B with 80% score might not be employed. So those of you from educationally developed states should brace up for the challenge.I am sure you know those states
What to equip yourself with:
When NNPC was established and under what decree
NNPC's Core Businesses
NNPC Subsidiaries and their operational functions
The Refineries and their various Refining capacities
Which of the NNPC subsidiaries u'll like to work with and why?
Why do you want to work with the NNPC.
Why do you want to work in the Oil industry
Why do you want to leave your former place of work(if you are already working)
Where do you hope to be in 10years time?
Understand your discipline and how you can apply it in the oil industry
Know the name of the current and immediate past GMD
Expect that you’ll be asked atleast one basic question about your discipline
Know where the head quarters of each of the Subsidiaries are located say Benin, Warri, Lagos etc.
Research the operations of the Subsidiaries so you’ll know which one you can fit in.(I am currently working with the subsidiary I mentioned during my interview so take your time to research, though it does not totally follow)
Look smart and composed. It’s usually a friendly interview and note that your line of discussion will mostly go in line with your responses so be sure of what to say. But please don’t be too confident else you’ll sound arrogant.
I’m speaking from experience. The above where questions asked me and some of my colleagues who I am working with now. So expect most of the questions to come from them.
Know that NNPC will not take everybody.
Best of God. I hope to meet you as colleagues soon.

@Tee3: many thanks
@Tee3, you are the bomb! i anticipated such questions as well myself. good job
It was about earthing of a building.
You are doing a wonderful job here,Dustydee. Please, can you shed more light on the ,earthing of a building' question you just mentioned! It sounds as if you are an Electrical graduate,if you are, then it will be appreciated if you could brief the electrical invitees for the interview the electrical related questions you were asked.Besides, were you asked those questions(if any) because you wrote related-activities in your CV or they just decided to ask?
Please, all Electrical 'senior men' who had attended NNPC interview before should come on board and be of good help as per Electrical related questions one should focus on.
NHJ i heard the interview wud last dis 15th of September which indicate those invitees are many, so there would definitely be another stage after this one
tee03: thanks a lot!!
